We Stayed as a couple at Auckland City Hotel, first up we arrived early and we're allowed to pay for our overnight parking in the secured carpark as well as prak the car while we walked around to get our bearings and waited for a room to be available. About an hour prior to actual check in we were granted access to our room, which was exceptionally clean, perfect room for a couple that only needs to bare basics for one night, but still wants to feel luxurious. It was a Friday night and the hotel was a 2min walk from the sky tower, yet I was comfortably able to work from my laptop whilst being very center to the CBD, I was amazed. The desk was the perfect touch. Loved the hot chocolate, if you book a standard queen you will get a kettle and coffee/tea/hot choccy/sugars, yet you have to fill from the bathroom sink or bring your own bottled water, which we actually didn't mind. For the most basic, room and the price we paid ($134) we were very happy with the room. The service from the staff was next level! Besides the ability to park early and early check in, they also accommodated our need of reheating some leftovers from tea the night before, as our basic room did not have a microwave, they heated it for us as well as gave us a plate, which was wonderful and certainly something they didn't need to do which made it even better. The hotel has a luxurious vibes for a lower cost and the central location could not be beat. Next time we stay we are planning on a 2 night stay and partaking in the Buffet breakfast on offer!
