Where to stay in Hamilton
Hamilton hotels & accommodations

Stayed here for the long weekend as my fiancé had a training course to attend in Hamilton. Free parking was a major plus. Staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, even when we left his uniform behind and had to have it couriered to us. Did not use gym or pool (it was winter). Breakfast was mostly variations on toast and cereal which was a little disappointing but...

The motel is located on top of the hill and just across the road from the Hamilton Lake. About 15 minute walk to the CBD. The room is spacious and has all the things you need for your stay. I love how big the bathroom is and they also have a spa in the bathroom. The motel is clean and have plenty of carparks during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place.

rooms are big and clean, and have a almost full facility kitchen- 4 cooking stoves, clean pots and pans, plates and bowls, and cutlery, all off which are clean and still look relatively new. For the 5 nights that i stayed, always came back to a well made-up room. Toilets are clean, and sufficiently big. Although i was travelling alone, i think this is a great room f...

Had a lovely over-nighter at the Ibis Tainui Hamilton Hotel. Decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant instead of going down the road - great idea as the hotel restaurant was quiet (ie not noisy), and the food and restaurant service was excellent. Our room and bed was comfortable. Was surprised at the extra cost for parking (valet parking only at $20); and was ...

We had a great experience at this hotel. It was great value for money, in a excellent location for the main entertainment strip in Hamilton. The staff were helpful and the 24 hour reception made the valet parking an great addition. Room was comfortable (big big and all the extras). We didn't eat in the hotel but it had a good looking range. We would stay at this hotel...

I stay in this motel every time I travel to Hamilton (6 times so far) and it is consistently good value for money. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, great location: walking distance to CBD, restaurants and shopping. Flat screen TV with good selection of channels and comfortable working desk with plenty of space and lots of power points to plug laptop...

We enjoyed our night at the Aspen because it was so convenient. With Hamilton East just down the road there was a range of food options within easy walking distance. The unit was spacious with comfortable chairs to relax on. The complimentary tea making facilities were appreciated. Everything available to make our stop over pleasant.

Nice, new Motel near the University and only a few minutes by car to the Downtown area or Hamilton gardens. Lovely large rooms with good sized ensuite. Excellent kitchen favilities in room with both a microwave and a hotplate. The bed was very comfortable and we were nice and warm with the heat pump. Although there were no SKY digital channels, this has to be the b...

We arrived Hamilton late at around 9pm but it would cost us a lot to take a taxi to the town for dinner. The dinner was over but when we got into the bar, the staff helped to ask the cook if he can cook something for us. It was so nice to have their help. The location is good, just 2 mins walk from the hotel. The cleaningness is ok but can be better. The room is big a...

The Argent Motor Lodge was there perfect place for us. We usually travel and stay in big hotels, so when we booked our trip to Hamilton, New Zealand, we looked for those accommodations first. I am glad that those places were booked as it caused me to look around for other accommodations. The Argent not only meet our needs but far exceeded our expectations. The room i...

Great location with welcoming owners/staff. The executive unit was beautifully appointed, spacious and with lovely decor. The bathroom was luxurious with a nice selection of toiletries. The whole unit was immaculately clean and spotless. Loved our stay there! Highly recommend!

I can only say, this is a hotel-standard motel! The room is spotlessly clean, very modern bathroom and has everything we need! The bed is also super comfortable! There’s really nothing to fault about this motel. Will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Hamilton!

Really spacious. Agoda price was cheaper than direct price. Clean and orderly but did smell (carpet, bedcovers and curtains need deodorising). Staff helpful. Room located away from road which is good cos you’re on a main busy road. Private hot pools not working. Big bathroom space. Need curtain for dining room instead of just netting. Would stay again.

new establishment, spotlessly clean everything, spacious well designed modern comfortable room and shower with attention to every detail even correctly placed TV set (no straggle with pillow adjustment for watching in bed), fully equipped kitchenette, friendly, helpful staff, makes you feel a guest invited to their home, nice extra: freshly ground coffee (for self brew...

The breakfast in the restaurant was one of the best during all my travels. The bathroom in the Business Studio room was awkward in design, not easy for one person to move around. The room has no "day" curtain on the window for privacy, had to close the heavy curtain for privacy. The room heating was great, plenty of room for suitcases. The room is sold as a business s...

This place was very good for our family of 5. Value for money was good. Loved the farm atmosphere not stuck in the middle of the city yet only 8 minute drive to the nearest shopping centre. Staff was friendly, need to be a bit more informative on where to put the keys when checking out. Best sleep ever, beds are comfortable better than at a 5 star hotel. Will recommen...

I really enjoyed my stay at Quest London street Apartments. Check in was quick and efficient and the staff are friendly. The room was very new and clean and had everything I required to make my breakfast and dinners each day. Free passes to the Les mills gym which is a 2 minute walk away was a fantastic bonus. The hotel is beautifully central in its location, which is...

This is a great hostel in Hamilton for the location and price. They also have a central area where you can watch TV/movies and just hang out with other travelers if you need a break. The apartment is centrally located and a few minutes walk from the main street of restaurants. We stayed in a studio apartment. The view from the back of the apartments was of a car park. My partner and I had been travelling for nearly two months and arrived here for our last couple of days before leaving New Zealand. What a great motel this is. Better than most hotels I stay at. The rooms are meticulously clean, beds are comfy, bathroom is spotless. There are all the Sky tv sport and movie channels whish is very rare and a great plus for me. I stayed in a single bedroom with a shared bathroom, it is a small bedroom, can only fit in a bed and my two suitcases, but it's really cheap, I think it is the cheapest hostel in Hamilton, so what more could you ask for? Besides, you only have to share your bathroom with another bedroom, not with all bedrooms. There is a small public space that is shared with two sing...

Our room is a twin bedroom. Looks like bedroom of the owner’s kids. The toilet and shower are just in front of the room. There’s free water inside the room. We had rented car and we parked it in front of the house. Wifi is also available inside our room. Nice neighborhood.. Location: quite far from the town center. You need a car to go around.

Step back in time......a little. Nothing wrong with that. The Manhattan suited me perfectly, yes, it is a basic motel but it was clean, warm and the bed comfortable. Very handy location in Hamilton East. Recommended if you are looking for value for your money. I would stay there again. Thanks.

this motel has excellent location on ulster st-where most of the motels are in hamilton. easy short walk to cbd, pak-n-save grocery store, bars and restaurants (and casino). i've stayed here 3 times in the past year and front desk managers are always super friendly and very helpful. i am a solo female traveller, so very much appreciate a security door that leads into...

I arrived in Hamilton after a long day in Waitomo Cave watching glow worms. It was raining by the time I arrived at the destination, the reception was kind enough to expedite my check-in but once she saw my 3 kids running in, she told me that I only put 3 pax for my room although the room could easily accommodate 5 pax (the exact pax). She told me that her manager dema...

We found the Colonial City Motel a very nice pleasant stay with talkative staff ,we had the one bedroom which was out of the way in the back of the complex but you could hear noise coming from above when people where stirring in the morning , the shower was similar to the walk in Asian showers where there is only a flat floor and a curtain , although nice to move in ...

Located between Hamilton & Cambridge on a beautiful life style block with views of the river & a friendly dog thrown in for good measure, the room was generously proportioned, stylishly decorated & breakfast was simple but absolutely enough (muesli, yoghurt, toast, good quality preserves, fresh fruit). Room was lovely and warm when we first arrived due to the heat pump being left on for us. The bed was very comfortable and gave us a couple of great nights sleep. Location was ideal for exploring Hamilton and the surrounding areas. Kitchenette was a bonus and had everything we needed. Would recommend for a cosy stay in Hamilton.

Hamilton has a nice combination of plenty to do and also space to relax and feel like you are "getting away".
there is 1 begger outside the casino which is quite unsightly. other than that, had a bad car accident way back from bridal veil falls as there is a pickup truck with trailer fish tailed to my car and broke the car right front.
The gardens are nice, but the city is always much colder than other places close by, not a big fun of being cold, probably won't go back.
For a small city Hamilton has a lot to offer, some good restaurants, a great zoo, and some good sporting facilities to host events.
It is a city near to a lot of attractions like the Waitomo caves and the hobbit farm. The location is strategic if you would like to visit different places nearby.
historically rich part of New Zealand with plenty of things to see and do and great choice of eating out especially if your into indian or asia type cousine
Hamilton is a must go and it is free. Pay a visit to the Waikato Stadium when there is a home rugby game, bet you will be very much impressed by the cow bells!
