There is a restaurant below and the surrounding area is under construction, giving a chaotic feeling, but it's actually not scary and despite being an alley, there is a lot of foot traffic. After 11 pm, it feels a bit secluded. There is some inconvenience in having to buy drinking water and the contactless check-in is a bit awkward, but it's not a big inconvenience. You can also leave your luggage after check-out. The fifth floor has washing machines and dryers (for $5 each), cooking utensils, and a spacious lounge area, which is a big advantage. The bedding is quite good compared to other hotels in a similar price range, and the cleaning condition is not bad either. However, there were ants when first entering, but when mentioned, they immediately sprayed insecticide and the ants disappeared. Compared to a 4-star hotel, it may be a bit lacking, but among hotels of the same level, it seems like a pretty good choice.

Group - January 2025”
We stayed in Dash Mackenzie for four nights after the 2025 New Year. We rented two rooms with queen beds in each. Location - Superb. Nested in a quiet green neighbourhood close to Sri Temasek and Istana, and has easy access to Little India MRT (exit A is never crowded). Selegie Rd is on the back (easy bus access) while Little India is a short walk. Near to an Old Chang Kee while 7/11 is in Selegie Rd. Check in/out - Poor. Dash do not have a dedicated check in counter - it only hires virtual staff to assist with the check in. We had to entry every single detail for each the four guests including taking photos of passports and selfies with passports. Moreover, when we requested to change rooms due to faulty key, they did not allow us to do so. No phone number/whatsapp to call whenever you have problems - we have to show up and talk to the virtual assistant in Lv 5. We checked out at 7 in the morning and no response (the screen instructs us to leave the key card in a designated place as the VA is on from 8am). Facilities - Average. No windows, good for a deep sleep. Toilets were equipped with a bidet (not every hotel in SG has bidets). Dash has wardrobes with enough hangers to hang our clothes. The open air space with chairs and tables on Lv 5 was fine. However, room size is not standard (we ordered the same room type but one comes up bigger than the other). One of our rooms appears to have faulty lock (digital keycard did not work). We were given a metal key but it did not work very well. The microwave appears to be faulty (it heats but we had to look on the timer as it did not tick back). Cleanliness - Room and bathroom was clean, but cleaning service was poor. Housekeeping staff was responsive, however no daily housekeeping service provided. Housekeeping is charged separately beside regular once a week housekeeping. But we do request a change of towel and its free of charge. The floor below the beds appear to have not been cleaned for a long time. Price - Good deal from Agoda.
