East Coast hotels & places to stay

The East Coast area of Singapore is ideally located and will be even more so when the Marine Parade MRT line is completed. The Holiday Inn Express - Katong is that hidden gem that is not so hidden anymore. The room was small but adequate. The shower was wonderful and the staff, both at the front desk, the breakfast area and the cleaning crew were professional and very friendly for Singapore. I was especially impressed with the breakfast. It was basic but delicious. You are just a few hundred meters from the bus stop and when the MRT is finished the hotel will probably be not much further from a station. It was easy to take a bus and then walk under the ECP to the East Coast Park which is a wonderful place to enjoy the water and sand and trees and biking. Kudos to the management and staff of the hotel. I will be back. :)

My family booked 2 rooms one for me and my wife and one for the children in East Coast. We arrive SG at around 2am and the staff at the hotel accommodated us and they were so caring. The place was awesome and near to food and even bars. They make sure the rooms are always tidy and will surely try their best to help. We commend the staff in reception and special commendation to Momen Wahid who keeps our rooms clean! We will surely recommend this place. BTW, they also have other branches to book! Planning to go back again soon!

my wife and i spent 5 nights at the grand mercure roxy and we loved it. it is located at the east coast side of singapore. location wise it's not the best as it does not have any mrt station nearby. however, it does have the bus services in front of the hotel if public transport is a necessity. taxi cabs are easy at the hotel. the check-in service was very efficient. the rooms were clean and spacious. the air conditioning is very good. the staff from the doorman to the chambermaids were pleasant and friendly. shopping ( parkway parade shopping centre) can be found directly opposite the hotel (about a 5 minute walk) and the overhead bridge provides the convenience of avoiding street crossing. the breakfast buffet is very adequate and the pool is a fresh welcome on a hot and humid day! heading towards the rear of the hotel is another shopping outlet and towards east coast road where there's a variety of f & b outlets and entertainment. the only thing that did not work well with us was the 'aromatizer/air refreshener' which is used or sprayed daily in the lobby area. it was really strong .that being said we do recommend this hotel.

We stayed here on two separate occasions. Both rooms are spacious and clean, however the first room had mould in the bathroom which created a musty smell in the room. The second room was fine. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the hotel is in a great location with local transportation and food outlets on the doorstep. The east coast beech is around a 10minute drive away and the airport is approximately 20minutes. Its basic but adequate and great for short stays, free wifi is a plus and we would return to this hotel again.

We live in Singapore but we seldom visit Joo Chiat area and it's many offerings in terms of cafe's, bars, and food stalls. This is a good location if you'd like to just walk around along joo chiat and katong area. Close to East Coast Rd where there are a lot of bars and cafe's open at night. I'd recommend a visit to Alibabar (at the end of Joo Chiat Rd) heading to East Coast Rd. Theres a delicious beef/lamb kebab at around $10.

I would like to highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to spend too much money on hotel and want to stay in the clean and standardized small hotel. The hotel is located in east coast which is a very nice district in Singapore . Very near to east coast beach . For dinning, there are many Vietnamese foods shop around. The price is very reasonable . The staffs are professional. Very clean !!! For public transportation, bus stop is very near to the hotel but far from the MRT . Overall , I like this hotel very much and will choose this hotel if I have to stay in Singapore for the next

This hotel 81 sakura is better than other hotel 81 around joo chiat area , although it is in the mid way of joo chiat road, but it is easy to get a taxi to airport within 20mins. There are many eateries along the road and also a 24 hr supermarket in katong mall.You can also walk to the seaside and visit the eastside largest shopping mall that have many eateries inside. You can also rent a bicycle in east coast park. in addition, Bus number 33 is recommend nearby as it can bring you to bugis and china town area. In the midway of this route , you can also visit old airport road food halls that have many good local food stall although there are no air-cond.

I'm not a tourist per se - our home underwent some flooring construction over the weekend, so I just needed basic accommodation for a couple of nights. Pros: Selected this hotel simply for its proximity to food places and public transportation. Location-wise, it's a 2-min short bus ride away(4 stops) from the bustle of Geylang Serai, which I preferred. Cons: The hotel may want to look into engaging more regular pest control management services. Ants may appear if you leave food or drinks outside for too long. At least, that's what I discovered during my stay. Hope this is not the case now. I'm not highly recommending, but I'm not, not recommending either. It's an okay choice if you're looking for basic accommodation. Not for the fussy. If you have high expectations, best to consider elsewhere.

Actually this is the previous Paramount hotel and has been completely overhauled with regards to the rooms. The staff in this hotel is exceptional friendly and helpful, always offering a warm smile has well spoken in the English language.Have been checked in by Miss Jane and I would like to recommend her to the management; check-out was arranged by Miss Josephine Ng, that has been a pleasure, too. Josephine even followed up with a few minor complaints of mine and informed me later by email that everything has been taken care of. The rooms are big enough and very comfortable, the bathroom is mosern, big and practical - I liked it. All amenities in the room and bathroom make one stay a pleasant one. Housekeeping as well as engineering are keeping the place clean, tidy and in order. The breakfast in the 4. floor was great, the buffet spread offers something for everybody's taste, the chef at the egg counter prepared my omelette as I like it. The only 'little' set back: its a 100 % no smoking hotel, which I basically don't mind; but it would be nice if the management could look into a possibility to introduce one or two more smoking corners, at present there is only one outside the main entrance around the corner. Bt again, that is not really important. If I need to sty overnight in Singapore again I will definitely consider this place, because I like the east coast area. And, yes, across the main road is Parkway Parade Shopping Mall and if one walks a bit further you can easily reach the east coast park on foot. Access by car is easy, parking is free and access to ECP is also quite fast and easy. Very good place to stay if you prefer the east coast instead of the crowded city.

Lovely hostel and very friendly staff ,I thought it was really a nice hostel because when I snoop the internet last week I saw it was cheaper than the other Hostel.the common area is really cozy, they serve many different type of beers, there's wii and pool table. The stay was good but the location is in a small street that is always crowded at night .definitely come back and stay in this hostel again they provide gym facility down the road, and the hostel is not so far to east coast park
