Hotels near Central MTR Station

This hotel is located centrally in, well, Central district of Hong Kong Island. It's some 10 minutes walk from the MTR station and in the heart of HK nightlife and dining area. There are connections to anywhere in the city by MTR, buses and you can get a taxi right in front of the hotel at any time of the day. Many boutique shops around it and no more than 10-15 minutes walk to the nearest mall. Many convenience stores, supermarkets, galleries are just around the corner. Airport express (MTR) is one stop away. To and from airport takes some 30 minutes from this hotel. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Room service was quick and very helpful when we needed something that wasn't already there (wine cooler, ice, glasses, extra pillow...). The internet was really fast and stable. The room is small-ish but that's standard in a city like HK and it was very cosy and didn't feel cramped. Front desk was particularly efficient and helpful every time we stopped there. Check in took less than a minute and check out two seconds, it doesn't get any better than that. They helped us to figure out the neighborhood and suggested a number of places to visit and do while there. We suggest you walk around Central and take MTR to anywhere else you need to go. If going to Ocean park you can take a bus not far from the hotel. All in all it's one of the best boutique hotels in Hong Kong - thumbs up!

Pros : This hotel has a superb location. It is located diagonally opposite the A2 Exit of the Sheung Wan MTR, easily visible from the exit. There is only a short flight of steps which you need to navigate from the MTR station to the hotel (the rest of the journey from the MTR train platform to concourse is by escalator) which makes it easy for travellers with luggage. It is only 1 stop away from Central MTR and HK station for the Airport Express. The fact that it offers single beds for solo travellers is also a plus point. Staff were also friendly and knowledgeable. Cons : The facilities in the hotel are really basic, and on the 2nd day they took away my towel (?) so I had to use the washcloth to dry off after showering. Water temperature was intermittently hot and cold, uneven water pressure. Narrow room, but to be expected at this price point. Toiletries are not provided.

First and foremost, the staff in this hotel is outstanding! From the porters who stored my luggage all day to the front desk and maids, everyone went above and beyond! Competent sized room for a mid-priced Hong Kong Hotel. Everything was extremely clean and in good working order. Grocery store right at the entrance. Many restaurants and convenience stores within 5 minute walk. Best is the location only a short walk to the Hong Kong/Macau Ferry and very close to Hong Kong MTR Station for fast airport transfer. Sheung Wan MTR Station also close by.

We booked 3 rooms ( 2 standard, 1 suite). The room is very modernly designed and well equipped with the basic amenities. The staff is very helpful and friendly. My family member was given a surprise cake and handmade card on her birthday. Really thoughtful. However, breakfast is quite basic with little selections, but we are fine with it. In terms of location, it is approx. 15 mins walk to sheung wan mtr station and the same distance to the ferry terminal to Macau. It is also located near to the tram stop at Western Market. Overall, an enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend to others if you don't mind the walking the mtr station.

The LKF @ Kau U Fong Hotel is a jewel of a hotel, in particular in its price market. Nicely appointed rooms with loads of traditional Asian flair adding a touch of romanticism to the modern facilities. Centrally located right around the corner from Wellington and a step away from Soho, it can easily be reached by foot from Sheung Wan MTR station and is still in comfortable reach from Central and all its gorgeous shopping. The actual Lan Kwai Fong area is also just a stroll afar so it is hard to figure what kind of traveller wouldn't find its fill at this hotel. Sole constraint for business travelers is lack of w working desk du to the notoriously small Hong Kong room sizes and the lack of free internet services is a bit annoying, more so as it is impossible to get signal for PCCW in the rooms. Overall nevertheless a great stay!

We appreciated all the superb facilities offered by the hotel, you may think it's expensive but if you are able to take advantage of the facilities available it's very good value for money & it should meet your expectations, it certainly did our; it won't let you down. The location is perfect for the Central area, the MTR is five minutes walk away & it's easy to get to the ferry quays for Kowloon etc. the hotel has a range of restaurants from the lounge to Michelin star French cuisine restaurants. The swimming pool is definitely worth trying, there can't be many other pools in HK with such views.

Stayed in Akvo Hotel for 4 days 3 days. Location was very good, 120 meters from SheungWan MTR station, walking distance to Central. Fantastic eatery places around. Staff were very friendly, very attentive. The hotel itself is very new, with 6 rooms intended for hotel stay. So staff will be always be around if you need assistance. The room was very nicely decorated and well designed, accompanied with BOSE sound system. We were more than happy to just stay in every night and watch soccer as it is the World Cup season now in the comfort of our amazing room. Highly recommended. Looking forward to stay next in their Executive Suite the next trip! Thank you again for such wonderful experience

I stayed at Ibis Hong Kong Central and Sheung Wan Hotel for 3 nights. I chose that hotel for its affordability and proximity to Central and Sheung Wan, which were my main areas of interests. It was near many eateries such as 莲香居 (Leun Heung Kui) famous for its Dim Sum, 坤記煲仔小菜 - famous for its claypot rice, Barista Jam for its freshly-grounded coffee, among others. It is also walking distance to the SOHO, Hollywood St, Bridges St and the likes for the many interesting cafes (Heirloom), restaurants (yardbirdm oolaa). It is only a station away from Central MTR station, and if u learn how to use the Tram you can commute quite easily to many parts of Hong Kong Island all the way to Causeway Bay for only HKD2.30 per trip. As a matter of fact I have been using the tram service and not relying on the overcrowded MTR system for as long as I am travelling on HK island itself. Room was clean, and the staff spoke good english and mandarin. They were polite and helpful. I have seen how they helpfully gave directions to tourists.

Our recent stay at the Conrad with our 4 year old was excellent! The drive to and from the airport was smooth. The hotel's location is just about the best in HK with a huge mall selling luxury and non-luxury brands, a supermarket and even a cinema. More importantly, Admiralty MTR station was situated at the doorstep which is crucial when you have to take the toddler to Disneyland and all the other tourist spots. Because of the hotel's popularity, there was also a steady stream of taxis available. My only gripe was perhaps that the room should have provided instant coffee instead of coffee in filtered bags that meant a whole pot had to be made and wasted.

In 2013, I and my boyfriend planned to visit Hong Kong for our 7th Anniversary relationship. Of course, we wanted the best thing for our first impressive moment and didn't want to ruin ourselves. But the best part was the place where we were gonna stay at. Among of all hotels we had approximately 9 hotels, finally we went for Mini Hotel because of its location which was very convenient to do everything we want to, shopping, hanging out, sightseeing, near attractions. It is just 5 min walk to Central MTR Station. The best part here was the tall guard guy who knew and could answer carefully about things we asked him(routes and attractions in Hong Kong) You should come stay!

Rooms are very chic and worth the price compared to other 5 star hotels in the area. Rooftop bar offers amazing views at night. Breakfast is great and teatime set is also delicious. The basement pools are pretty cool, especially since there was no one when we went. Don't let the location put you off, the MTR station is actually within walking distance and you can cab to anywhere anyways. Recommended.

The hotel was rather easy to find once you past the Wing On building if coming from Hong Kong Airport Express station. It was a bit of a walk as the overhead walkways did not connect directly into the nearby buildings. The staff were professional and polite. I had quite an unpleasant experience as a couple cut my queue to check in as I was waiting for the staff to finish up with another family. The front desk staff promptly attended to me after realising the situation and politely requesting the couple to wait for their turn so that made me quite impressed. Check in (and check out) was efficient. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room. It was clean, spacious and very modern. The toilet and shower area was a bit cramped (though just right for solo travellers) but well stocked with clean new towels and amenities. Shades in the room were already drawn down due to the lack of views (hotel location is facing other office buildings) but the lighting and whole feel of the room was like a 5 star hotel. There was also free wifi and an adapter in the room. The hotel is very close to Sheung Wan MTR station, just turn right once you exit through the front doors, turn right at the corner and just 1 block down is exit B of the MTR station. Takes maybe 3 mins to walk there. Train fare to Central MTR station is HKD4 and Causeway Bay is HKD5. However, if you fancy a walk instead, you can take a 15 stroll up to Central (due to the window shopping that I was doing and the lunch crowd at that time) if not it might take only half the time to reach the Central shopping centres/mid-level escalators. Very good value for that price to stay at Hong Kong Island. I will definitely recommend it to other travellers. Also as I booked through Agoda, check in and check out procedure was simple and fast with the voucher. As I was checking out that day, there was another couple who had gone to the bank to draw cash as their overseas credit cards were not accepted

Bishop Lei was a good stay for my wife and I for 5 nights. It's pretty local to central and has a free shuttle to get quickly to Central MTR station. It's about a 13 minute walk downhill, 15 minute uphill. If you are a younger individual or couple, you can do the nightly hike home after getting off at Central, If not, it's a $5 USD uber ride. I can see how older folks would say it's a hassle to get from Central. Building is a bit outdated, but everything works. I'm tolerable to physical keys, older furnishings so this didn't bother me. Rooms are clean, AC blasts cold, new toiletries provided daily. I would stay again if I was looking to stay in the Central area.

Located near central MTR and the shopping and business district, lovely hotel and very spacious room. It was a bit hard to find initially but just need to orientate yourself a bit as teh taxi drivers were not too familiar. Central MTR direct airport express which is excellent in my opinion, also it wasn't noisy at all (surprisingly), there was a building being rebuilt right opposite the hotel but I think the soundproof the windows so most part of it I didn't hear anything until 11am when they start drilling, even then it was very soft. Will stay here again!

1. Food was lackluster. Dinner in Cafe Gray was disappointing. Room service breakfast options were extremely limited and dull. 2. Snack items in the mini bar were all sweet. Maybe mix it up with some salty treats as well? 3. Outlet in bathroom was 2-prong but blow dryer provided was 3-prong with no adapter. We ended up having to blow-dry our hair by the writing desk in the room (with no mirror) since it was the only area with universal outlets. 4. Need accessible universal outlets by the bed. Hate it when hotels don't anticipate that people usually charge their phones by their bed side at night. 5. No bidet spray/hand held bidet in the bathroom. 6. Airconditioning was centralized, we couldn't control our own temperature in the room. Also, motion-activated so when we were asleep, the room would get quite warm which woke us up a few times. Everything else was excellent!!!

The hotel is located near Sheung Wan mtr station. Centrally located and near alot of ammenities. Staff is very helpful especially Suki at the front desk, always smiling! Prompt service , our kettle leaks and got an immediate replacement for that. Clean and spacious room, comfy bed, love the complimentary toileteries. The complimentary snacks and drinks at level 1 were life savers especially on our firstday there, coz we were tired and hungry. The mini gym was awesome to burn off the great dimsum we ate! Nepresso machine in the room was a real treat. Not to mention it is near alot of street wall art for some picture perfect moments. Lively area with alot of shops selling birdnest and ginseng. Will definitely return here again. 2 thumbs up!!!

YWCA it’s a nice Hotel, every time we go to Hong Kong we stay in YWCA. The location is good you’re middle in Central area. By taxi from Central MTR station or IFC mall only about 5 minutes and cost’s roughly 25 HK$. If you up to spend your evening in Lan Kwai Fong it’s only few minutes by taxi and cost’s less then 25 HK$, is quite convenient especially when you go back and you grabbed a bit to much or just right . Just don’t forget to buy you a water because in the Hotel is no complementary water. The rooms are quite big for Hong Kong circumstances. Staff is very friendly never had problem there.

You couldn't ask for much more - space, location and comfort. I normally stay in a 5 star Hotel in Wan Chai but I will be checking out The Putman first in future. It had everything you need in an apartment, it was great to get home after a long day and relax on the couch. Location wise you are only 2 minutes from the MTR, about 6 minutes away from SoHo and LKF. I am happy to recommend The Putman to anyone.

My trip was 1 more stay to Hong Kong because of the typhoon, which delayed my flight. I reserved City View but upgraded to Harbor View, and the staff were very kind and didn't say anything unnecessary. The sauna was small but clean, and the amenity quality was great. The amenity inside the room was a Bottega Veneta product. The Harvard view room was really the best. It is expensive room rate but minibar is not free, so I felt sorry. The indoor pool was rather small. Although the room view was good, I wonder if I will visit next time because the room rate is too high. But it was one of the best hotels I've ever used.

ovolo 2 arbuthnot road is a lovely hotel with great location. soho and lan kwai fong is just a few steps away. the central mtr is just 10 minutes walk away. my 470 sq feet executive deluxe room is a luxury in hk, especially central area. enjoyed the free mini bar provided with miniature hard liqours, beer, sparking water and juices. there's also a foc loot bag filled with various snacks provided daily. breakfast is pretty good, and you can choose to have it at the cafe, in your room or take away at no extra charges.

It's only 5 minutes walk to Sheung Wan MTR station, only a stop to Central MTR Station which connect you to Hong Kong Airport Express station. One of the staff named "Brandon" and he is super friendly. Efficient, helpful and smiling. The other is the security staff who also very kind. The room is unique and modern. Maybe people said its small but hey it's Hong Kong. You'll get free mini bar items, free Internet, free breakfast, free laundry, free happy hours drink. The price is quite cheap consider the location and freebies. Will come back again :)

It is hard to come across good deals on Hong Kong accommodation. Mingle at the Eden is a great option if you are looking for something a bit less expensive than most hotels in the city. The room my friend and I stayed in was larger than I expected, and very clean and nice. The location is outstanding because it is near Lan Kwai Fong, the Mid-Levels Escalators, and two metro stops. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location, walking distance to central and LKF as well as Wan Chai. It also has the Admiralty MTR station in the shopping centre below so quick access to Kowloon also. The rooms were a good size, traditional and a little dated decor wise but less so than the Conrad next door. The pool and spa area is very nice, pretty quiet and well equipped. Didn't eat here so I can't comment on that. Check in and check out process were fast, efficient and friendly. Will definitely stay again for my next HK trip.

The hotel is undoubtedly small, but for an average sized asian like me, it is good enough. Walkway in the room is wide enough to get to the bed, and the shower fits me perfectly well. The only downside is that the sink is so small and the space you have is as big as the sink. The hotel is pretty new, most of the lighting are all LED and has got very nice contemporary interior decor. While for the location, it is situated pretty closeby to the MTR, around 5mins or less of a walking distance away to Sheung Wan Station. Being in Sheung Wan, the location is very good comparing to the reasonable price. Central MTR is just 1 station away and that being said, you are connected to the few places of most visited locations in Hong Kong - Mong Kok, Lan Kwai Fong, TST and very accessible to Airport route. Not to mention the accessibility to Hong Kong's exhibition centre. In conclusion, this hotel is recommended for both leisure and also business.
