"The location was great -- very near the Central Station (where most MTR lines intersect, and where the Airport Express line is also connected). The staff were average, except when I was checking out and needed help finding out how to get to the Airport Express, wherein, their employee, Tom showed me great hospitality. I knew how to get to Airport Express on foot, because it was a mere 5-min walk away but with my huge luggage and the many stairs between the hotel and the train station, I thought I would need a taxi to get there (flagdown rate was HKD 20). So when I asked Tom how best to get to the train station, he literally carried my very heavy luggage bag (which contained all my belongings plus shopping loot) for me all the way to the station. I was so grateful!!! The room was clean and functional enough. PLUS the free smartphone which gave me unlimited internet access and unlimited local calls was VERY useful. I used it to navigate through HK and to search for nearby restaurants and sightseeing spots, so that I could conserve my personal phone's battery for picture-taking. I also used it to book for my dinner at a local restaurant (whereas other hotels (even the fancy ones like Renaissance Hotel) charge for each local phone call 8-10 HKD per call). I didn't like that they had only 6 channels on the TV, but then again, I'm only awake in the hotel for a few hours, so that's not such a big factor. The room was TINY compared to other hotels that I'm used to. But it was functional, and for a single traveler like me, it was just right, and had all the basic necessities I need (hot and cold tap and shower, fresh bath towels, electric kettle, hairdryer, TV, fresh beddings, comfy bed, toilet). I had a bit of trouble with the shower because it was difficult to find the right balance between hot and cold, but otherwise, everything went fine. Would definitely consider booking this hotel again next time I go to HK."

"My bad, I hiked my way up the hotel from Pedder road and failed to realize that I could make use of the mid-levels escalator. It’s quite a steep climb for most people I would say. I asked about this during check in and the agent at the Front Desk could have been more proactive by letting me know that there’s complimentary shuttle that could drop hotel guests off at various location in HK island. When asked about the bus service to Admiralty, he could have sense the cue to let me know about the shuttle but he didn’t. (Hotel provide shuttle drop off at Admiralty too). Then again, this is not a five star establishment, and I know how much I’m paying but I feel most employees at this hotel lack some sense of pride in their work. Single room was perfect in size, very small but everything was working in order. I love the many electrical sockets by the writing table which would be more than enough for all your devices. I would return for short stays in this charming location."

"I read the good reviews about this place before booking, but was actually not expecting much as the price was very low for HK (which is a very expensive city). I have stayed in cheap HK hotels before, and when I read that people said the room was "small" I assumed they meant small by HK standards. Its not. Its LARGE by HK standards - I was gobsmacked at the size of the studio. (For reference, most of the cheap hotels have about 6 inches spare around 2 sides of the bed and THATS IT. This room had room to walk all around the bed, room for a chair and table, a nice window seat and a nice view. A bathroom where you can sit on the toilet without your knees hitting the opposite wall - it was, in fact, very comfortable. Very well located for what I wanted (which was to be near HKU, I actually live in Hong Kong but about 1.5 hours away from here). It's not a 5 minute walk to Central, but I know HK so I knew whoever wrote that was talking rubbish. It's about a 10 minute walk into Admiralty and a little longer into Central - and a LOT longer on the way back up! (hint - catch a bus!). The walk up the hill is awful in hot weather but there are plenty of buses and taxis are very cheap so the location, being a little out of town, is actually much quieter than most of HK and more relaxing. I would certainly consider returning if I need another night on the Island."

"All decent hotels with a decent location in Hong Kong Island are very expensive. I'm a budget no fuss traveler. For the price of this hotel I expected much, much less and was pleasantly surprised. Quick check-in, check-out. They let me check in very early with no trouble. Nice, clean, well appointed. Great room, really nice. Fast wireless internet. And the best of all, location, location, location. Five minutes to Central Station, lots of places to eat nearby, street market right outside during the day, walking distance to all the relevant sites in Central Hong Kong."

"This was one of our best choices in many hotels night booked. Perfect when it comes to everything to do with the hotel, the room is great and the facilities completely fit the 5 star rating. The staff was nice, however in general, quite cold/distant. Probably just a matter of culture. Nothing to point at, but you don't fell exactly a warm welcome. But understanding that, the hotel is great, perfect location allowing you to go wherever you want by walking or get into the metro. Very good breakfast, which for the price of the hotel should always be inclusive and not charge additionaly (my mistake doing the reservation, for sure)."

"If i could give 6 out of 5 stars for service, i would. The concierge seriously go out of their way to assist. One manager even lent me his personal trail guide when I expressed interest in hiking. Ended up taking the Lantau trail. Aside from this, they spoke to their personal friend to get us the best seats and service in one of the restaurants we asked to be reserved in. Excellent, excellent hotel."
