Hotels near Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens

This hotel is located centrally in, well, Central district of Hong Kong Island. It's some 10 minutes walk from the MTR station and in the heart of HK nightlife and dining area. There are connections to anywhere in the city by MTR, buses and you can get a taxi right in front of the hotel at any time of the day. Many boutique shops around it and no more than 10-15 minutes walk to the nearest mall. Many convenience stores, supermarkets, galleries are just around the corner. Airport express (MTR) is one stop away. To and from airport takes some 30 minutes from this hotel. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Room service was quick and very helpful when we needed something that wasn't already there (wine cooler, ice, glasses, extra pillow...). The internet was really fast and stable. The room is small-ish but that's standard in a city like HK and it was very cosy and didn't feel cramped. Front desk was particularly efficient and helpful every time we stopped there. Check in took less than a minute and check out two seconds, it doesn't get any better than that. They helped us to figure out the neighborhood and suggested a number of places to visit and do while there. We suggest you walk around Central and take MTR to anywhere else you need to go. If going to Ocean park you can take a bus not far from the hotel. All in all it's one of the best boutique hotels in Hong Kong - thumbs up!

I am suppose to book from this hotel during my first trip in Hong Kong but they got sold out really fast! Luckily this January of 2019, I was able to book 2 rooms. The staff that attended our check-in is really efficient and very friendly. The rooms we got are really spacious, very minimalist but that's how we like it and clean. The location is amazing, like 50 steps away from the train station. The price is relatively cheap knowing that this is Hong Kong and were in the central part. Hong Kong holds a special place in our hearts and I will definitely stay in this cozy homy hotel when I come back. Keep up the great service Homy Hotel Central!

First and foremost, the staff in this hotel is outstanding! From the porters who stored my luggage all day to the front desk and maids, everyone went above and beyond! Competent sized room for a mid-priced Hong Kong Hotel. Everything was extremely clean and in good working order. Grocery store right at the entrance. Many restaurants and convenience stores within 5 minute walk. Best is the location only a short walk to the Hong Kong/Macau Ferry and very close to Hong Kong MTR Station for fast airport transfer. Sheung Wan MTR Station also close by.

We stayed in the Butterfly on Wellington for one night to break the journey from Melbourne to Paris. On our previous visit to Hong Kong we stayed on the Kowloon side at Mongkok, so we picked the Butterfly on Wellington because of its location on the Hong Kong side, and good reviews on TA. The location is excellent. It is easy to get to and from the Hong Kong Airport Express Station by taxi or walking. We went taxi to the hotel for a cost of 40HKD, but walked back the next day with our cases without any problems. The hotel is within 100 metres of the Mid-Levels escalators. The check-in process was smooth, and we were given an upgrade from an Executive room to a Butterfly Suite on the 2nd floor. Although close to street level, it was quiet and we heard no street noise in the morning. The room was large (it was a suite) and very comfortable. We were allowed to have a late checkout until 2pm, and then the hotel stored our luggage until we were ready to take it to the station in the evening. Both the reception and door staff were friendly and efficient. The Butterfly on Wellington is definitely value for money if you want a comfortable room in a great location without paying for all the other 5 star items you might not use, e.g. gym, pool, lobby, bar, etc. There were many restaurants around, so breakfast was not an issue. We would definitely stay at the Butterfly on Wellington the next time we pass through Hong Kong.

After doing research, we booked this hotel due to feedback which all turned out to be true. The staff will do anything to help you including giving you umbrellas to use, good directions, making afternoon coffee, and snacks. The breakfast buffet provides plenty of variety to fill up (cereal, lots of fruit, hard-boiled eggs, bakery items, juices, coffee, tea). They upgraded us from a standard to a deluxe room for no charge. To get there from the airport, buy tickets for the Airport Express (vending machine or customer service at airport) to Hong Kong station on the island, then take the shuttle bus to Hotel Ibis. I recommend some currency exchange at the airport also. The hotel is a short walk from there (go to nearest cross street, turn left, walk 1 short block, turn left, go 1 more block and hotel will be on right near intersection. Cabs are cheap but most don't know this hotel but they do know Hotel Ibis. The bed was king size and was a typical firm mattress found in Asia hotels, reasonably comfortable at least for us. There's a great Vietnamese restaurant on nearby Possession St, the variety platter B feeds 2 easily. Antique district and also a great little park are nearby on Hollywood Rd. Sheung Wan subway station is a 10 min walk and Star Ferry Pier to Kowloon side is about a 20 minute walk. Not the best location if you came to Hong Kong to go shopping for clothes.

we don't spend much time in the room when we are in hong kong so hate to throw a lot of money away on simply a bed. hotel room was very clean albeit small (thats hong kong unless you want to spend more than a night) lkf kau u fong was perfect for the three of us. staff went out of their way for us all we had to do was ask politely. one minor irritant was the very loud air conditioner we had to put up with the noise all night but we endured. overall very good value and we loved the location, hk mtr 5 minute walk, and public transport makes hk easy to get around. excellent nightlife and dining we love hong kong! we will stay here again as long as we can continue to get the room for less than us per night. we consider it a prime location for not so much money.

My wife and I have done staycations at several Hong Kong hotels of the same caliber as Four Seasons, and while they all have their charm, Four Seasons really stands out as the best experience. The primary reason for this is the customer service. Whereas many hotels would ask you to accomodate their guidelines, we felt like Four Seasons was just their to accomodate us. Whatever we wished for we would get plus more. Generous early check-in and late check-out was super welcome, and everyone was attentive without being too attentive. And the cinnamon buns they gave us on checking out were a lovely touch. Highly highly recommended. I've never written a review on a hotel before, but our experience was so remarkable that this is my first.

Unreal room on the 23rd floor. That he would be so luxury, we did not expect. All the high technology. Up to the self-opening curtains and the Dyson hairdryer, working according to unknown laws of physics. No less significant surprise was 1 room for the whole floor. Anyone who will be in Hong Kong would highly recommend Akvo Hotel. Service, reasonableness in the details, a amazing view of the part of Hong Kong. The center of the island part. Lots of lighting variations, good digital-sound, a cappuccino coffee machine. Windows to the floor and etc. Thank you so much for your hospitality and smiles.

Uhm...where do I even start? I travelled with a friend and upon arrival we could not get two double beds. That's not a bad thing at all. We were completely A-OKAY with this set up. When we went into our room though, we were ECSTATIC. Biggest double bed I have ever seen in Hong Kong. Fit the both of us and then some perfectly! Super comfortable. Fell asleep in bed each day like a baby. We stayed for six and the second deciding factor was definitely the floor. NO CARPET. LOVED THAT. The first was the bathroom. We did not like having a set up where the toilet and the shower were combined. But this bathroom was clean with a sliding door divide for the shower! I don't know how many hotels I have found that did not do that or were not as clean as this one! And the size of the room was PERFECT. It was a lot bigger than we imagined because space in Hong Kong is limited! There was even a mini fridge for you to use, which we totally did! Free WiFi made it all the more amazing as well. The lovely housekeeper and staff downstairs were also extraordinarily polite. Always held the doors open for us. I don't know about you guys, but I cannot recommend this place enough. It's also just a short walk to the Sheung Wan MTR. Complete convenience. But take into account that my friend and I love to walk. (Really, though, a five-minute walk is nothing.) Plus at night, it's totally quiet. We slept like babies. And despite getting a city view, it was still lovely opening up the drapes to massive windows. Our stay was amazing. My friend and I rave about our room many times during and after our stay. Thank you Ibis staff for making our trip back to Hong Kong THAT much more enjoyable. Much love! (The only "con" I can say is, it's not a very central location. If you plan on doing a lot of activities that are on Kowloon instead of on Hong Kong Island, it may be wise to go with another hotel. The MTR stops running at some point, folks. And taking a taxi all the time can cut into your budget!)

We have been there for the second time already. Both times we felt the hotel as exemplary. From the lobby to the guest rooms everything is very nicely decorated and exudes luxury and comfort.The hotel is overall large. It has unobtrusiveness although it shows luxury. At the breakfast, lunch and dinner is a very large selection of dishes from east and west of the world available. Everything is fresh. In addition, the hotel still has in-house restaurants which present further more dishes on the highest culinary level. The entire staff works very well, even in situations of strain. Personal wishes are taken into account immediately. Taxis for the mobility of the guests are available immediately. Very good is the direct connection to the shopping mall Pacific Place, one of the best addresses for shopping in Hong Kong. The only disadvantage : There is no free Wifi in the hotel .This should be improved from the hotel in the future because already the most hotels in Hong Kong have free offer for Wifi. There is hardly any better place for a hotel stay in Hong Kong. A lot of the city attractions are nearby. Also the accounting process was carried out highly reliable from the hotel after we finished the stay.

It was quite a walk up the steep slopes and stairs, but hey, it is hong kong after all right? Though the hotel was found sandwiched between two other building, it stood out due to it's small build making it easy to find. Entering the hotel, we were greeted with a very beautifully lobby area which was furnished with modern and contemporary furniture. There were two imacs available for use and even a piano, which i was very much tempted to play but my next to zero instrumental skills prevented me. We were briskly checked in and showed to our room by the efficient, if not so friendly, staffs there. We weren't exactly shocked by the size of the room, having done our research prior to booking the room. In fact, i actually felt that it was better than i'd expected it to be! It would've been very annoying to move around if we had brought big luggages but we were only travelling with backpacks so it wasn't really much of a hassle for us! Besides, when you're in hong kong you wouldn't be staying in that much since there's lots to do. Aside from that, i actually like the fact that the toilet had clear glass walls. It allowed me to watch the telly, not that there was anything to watch actually considering the limited channels they have, and go about my big business all at the same time. Also, toiletries was not provided but can be easily bought from a dispenser at the ground floor, Overall, we're really satisfied with our stay there. It was a really nice hotel with an affordable price. Unless you really don't enjoy small spaces i'm pretty sure you'll like the place! Well, we definitely did and wouldn't mind coming back if i were to visit hong kong again!

We were suggested to upgrade to a suite that came with breakfast buffet and it was very much worth it. The suite is very generous in size with beautiful views to the central district. Breakfast selection was good but service had room to improve, probably because it was busy time. We particularly enjoyed the quiet swimming pool, the proximity to running trail ( through Hong Kong Park ) and the late check-out. We will go stay at the Murray in the future.

The hotel was rather easy to find once you past the Wing On building if coming from Hong Kong Airport Express station. It was a bit of a walk as the overhead walkways did not connect directly into the nearby buildings. The staff were professional and polite. I had quite an unpleasant experience as a couple cut my queue to check in as I was waiting for the staff to finish up with another family. The front desk staff promptly attended to me after realising the situation and politely requesting the couple to wait for their turn so that made me quite impressed. Check in (and check out) was efficient. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room. It was clean, spacious and very modern. The toilet and shower area was a bit cramped (though just right for solo travellers) but well stocked with clean new towels and amenities. Shades in the room were already drawn down due to the lack of views (hotel location is facing other office buildings) but the lighting and whole feel of the room was like a 5 star hotel. There was also free wifi and an adapter in the room. The hotel is very close to Sheung Wan MTR station, just turn right once you exit through the front doors, turn right at the corner and just 1 block down is exit B of the MTR station. Takes maybe 3 mins to walk there. Train fare to Central MTR station is HKD4 and Causeway Bay is HKD5. However, if you fancy a walk instead, you can take a 15 stroll up to Central (due to the window shopping that I was doing and the lunch crowd at that time) if not it might take only half the time to reach the Central shopping centres/mid-level escalators. Very good value for that price to stay at Hong Kong Island. I will definitely recommend it to other travellers. Also as I booked through Agoda, check in and check out procedure was simple and fast with the voucher. As I was checking out that day, there was another couple who had gone to the bank to draw cash as their overseas credit cards were not accepted

Of all the 5 star hotel Iounge/ Club room facilities I have been to...JW Marriot offers the most exciting and bountiful spread...great food that includes steaks, a good variety of wine and a surprising bonus of belgian chocolates! The food is simply abundant and prepared with care and with utmost consideration for the needs and wants of business travellers like me. Upon arriving in our room, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a basket of premium tea and fruits. The bed is the most comfortable I have laid on. And the harbour view of Hong Kong in the glass window of our corner room was simply breathtaking. The remote-controlled window-drapes is a great example of the management's being keen of making sure that their clientele's are pampered and spoiled! The jacuzzi is also sufficient in size. There was even a solar bed! My JW Marriott experience is the best!

Good value and nice location in mid levels, just next to the zoological and botanical gardens. Short walk down to Central or take a bus by the hotel door. Return up the escalotor. Rooms are clean and well equipped, but also small. Breakfast is good with a considerable choice. Only thing I found a little strange: although I had paid the full price via Agoda upfront, the asked me for a deposit of HK$ 500,- at arrival. I gave them my credit card for pre-authorization, but on check-out they could not provide me a receipt for the cancellation of this. In the end they did not charge anything, so all good.

the Pottinger was more than expected. the staff was efficient and friendly. the premises were one of the best I've experienced in the budding boutique hotel scene in Hong Kong. Interior was well appointed with a nice touch of chinoiserie without being kitschy, elegant and luxurious. Rooms are on the smaller size, understandably in a city that has one of the most expensive real estate in the world. the rooms were well organised and well appointed with generous sized bathrooms. pillows and mattress were very comfortable. The location was superb, possibly the strongest reason to stay here. it is located in an area where the quaint touches of Hong Kong past still exists. the hotel pays homage to Hong Kong's most famous photographer, Fan Ho. Pottinger Street was one of the locations where Fan Ho used to shoot with his Rolleiflex. Looking forward to my next visit!

This is rated the best hotel in Hong Kong and we saw why. Magnificent designer room (we had a harbour view 70) excellent service - sending us detail on good local restaurants before we arrived was wonderful. The hotel is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The views from the room were superb and nice touches like free mini bar (for everything except wine and spirits) and excellent espresso machine. We did not want to leave.

Located at the quieter end of Sheungwan, this apartment-hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from all the trendy restaurants and quirky shops that dot the entire stretch of Hollywood Road up to the Mid-Levels escalator to Central. But it looks like it may not remain quiet for long as the uphill areas at Po Hing Fong start to pick up in popularity and the newly opened PMQ looks set to draw large crowds. And to add to that, the Sheungwan MTR is 5 minutes away, as is the tram line, and the Hong Kong Station (for city check-in to your flights) is also only a 5 minute taxi ride away (the meter does not even start ticking beyond the base $22 fare). Eating places around here cover every cuisine that is imaginable - from the ubiquitous Kow Kee Beef Noodles to Jason Atherton's Aberdeen Street Social set to open in June at the PMQ - and everything else in between, Luxuriously appointed, the hotel has 3 units on each floor, each one is slightly larger than an average Hong Kong hotel room of this price range, hence it is also called an apartment. They are equipped with a microwave oven, induction cooker and all necessary basic cooking utensils. Next to the large picture window is a sofa and dining table as well as a long bedside table that works like a writing table. Laundry services (self operated washer and dryer - no extra charge) are found on 2 floors. Above the 36th floor is a roof terrace that offers fantastic views of the surrounding buildings on Hong Kong up to the Peak, as well as across to Kowloon. The lobby on the Ground Floor is so minimalist hip (Just one small counter and a sofa for 3) that it hurts... At this price, no one needs to look at other hotel options anymore!

This is a lovely hotel, within easy walking distance of the Hong Kong zoological and botanical garden. Just take the walking overpass. The staff is pleasant and helpful. You are also close to the Peak tramway; in fact, you can walk along the train if you like. Central and Admiralty MRT stations are nearby but the walk back to the hotel is uphill. Take Bus 12A from Admiralty MRT station back up the hill. There are some restaurants nearby and a lot more down at Admiralty. Wifi, however, is a little pricey.

The Jervois and it's sister properties at One96 and 99 Bonham are my favourite places to stay in Hong Kong - and the Jervois is my favourite of the favourites. The rooms are all actually suites with a separate living room and the amount of usable space you have is high. The design is outstanding - modern and stylish. Also love the location in Sheung Wan, which is much more fun than the more business-y areas of Central and Wan Chai. Great restaurants and cafes are nearby. You realise you don't need many of the things that a full service hotel offers (like room service) and would much rather have the location and space and privacy of the Jervois than the tiny tasteless room you'd get at even a high-end chain hotel. If you're hungry at Jervois, just order Deliveroo from Chachawan and in 20 minutes you'll have some of the best Thai food you'll ever eat! Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. It is incredible value for money.

I am so impressive since the first day I arrived. The service is beyond my expectation.The staffs are very helpful, full serviced minded and friendly. The room is clean and quiet.The facilities in the room are all you need. The location of the hotel is perfect since just very short distance walk to Sheung Wan Station and not that crowding so we can take the full rest for my business trip. . It was also my birthday during the stay. The staff and management team was so caring and surprised me with a cake in the refrigerator. It is one of the most impressive stay I have ever experienced from many many trips I have taken. I would definitely recommend my friends and colleagues to choose this place whenever they travel to Hong Kong especially those would have the businesses or want to stay on Hong Kong Island.

My trip was 1 more stay to Hong Kong because of the typhoon, which delayed my flight. I reserved City View but upgraded to Harbor View, and the staff were very kind and didn't say anything unnecessary. The sauna was small but clean, and the amenity quality was great. The amenity inside the room was a Bottega Veneta product. The Harvard view room was really the best. It is expensive room rate but minibar is not free, so I felt sorry. The indoor pool was rather small. Although the room view was good, I wonder if I will visit next time because the room rate is too high. But it was one of the best hotels I've ever used.

i want to just start my review off with "stay at this hotel." just in case you don't read the rest of my review. i absolutely loved this place. first off it is a beautiful and clean boutique hotel in a great location of the city. there is dining, shopping, and nightlife around every corner. the rooms were incredibly clean and they provide a complimentary mini bar. of course they have free wifi with good connection speeds. our room had apple tv set up on the television which was a nice change from the $10 old movie selections i have come to expect from hotels of this caliber. the bed was comfortable and the shower was spacious. but after saying all of this the best part of the hotel is the staff. william, ada, and another gentleman (who's name i regrettably can't remember, i'm sorry) were always there to suggest the most amazing things to do. please speak to the staff about any questions and ask for their recommendations. i feel i have said enough and i would once again suggest staying here while in hong kong.

Getting there - Take the Airport Express from the airport to Hong Kong Station (easy). Follow the signs for the free shuttle bus. There are 4 different buses. If you say you are going to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel (H1 - western district) the lady will direct you to the correct shuttle bus or direct you to some seats to wait. The Holiday Inn is the first, stop 8. When you get off the shuttle bus at the Holiday Inn, look south, uphill, for a Macdonalds Sign. Cross the road and walk up the steps to MacDonalds (less than 100 paces). Turn left and the hotel is across the road next to Café O (40 paces). Reception is on the 2nd floor. Free laundry and gym on 3rd floor. Very good free Ovolo map of Hong Kong in reception. The hotel is fantastic. Modern, full of style, and brilliant staff. If we owned a hotel this would be it. Around Hong Kong - We can recommend the tramway up to the Peak - great views. We also went to Cheung Chau Island on the ferry. Good day out.

It is hard to come across good deals on Hong Kong accommodation. Mingle at the Eden is a great option if you are looking for something a bit less expensive than most hotels in the city. The room my friend and I stayed in was larger than I expected, and very clean and nice. The location is outstanding because it is near Lan Kwai Fong, the Mid-Levels Escalators, and two metro stops. I would definitely stay here again.

the best thing about this hotel is the service. the staff are very friendly, accommodating, and very efficient. it is located about 4-6mins away (by foot) from sheung wan mtr station and hkd20 cab ride away from lan kwai fong and soho. there are circle k outlets, a 711, and a welcome supermarket nearby. it is surrounded with coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants as well. there's a bazaar near wing lok st. every sunday. the rooms are very clean and the hotel smells really good. i've been traveling to hong kong since i was a child and this year alone, i flew to hong kong 4 times and i have always stayed in kowloon hotels -- and sohotel made me feel that tsim sha tsui hotels are overrated. this may not be the biggest and most beautiful hotel i've stayed in but it sure is the best in terms of cleanliness and service. did i mention that there's free wifi internet service in every room and you can call as much local numbers you want -- for free?
