Hotels near Sheung Wan MTR Station

Hong Kong is expensive, and if you just need a room with a bed and the basic amenities the Butterfly on Hollywood can be very reasonable. I paid only about USD80 for a small room with a double (queen?) bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I was able to check in around noon even though I hadn't asked for an early checkin ahead of time, and the room was clean and pleasant, if not luxurious. The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the Sheung Wan MTR station and close to convenience stores and restaurants. The wifi was free and worked fine for me and they offered the free use of a smartphone for local calls and data, though I didn't use it. As others have noted the sink is in the room and a sign in the small bathroom warns that the air-conditioning must stay on and the (sliding) bathroom door be kept shut to keep the smoke detector from going off when the shower is used. A hotpot is available (with complimentary bottled water, instant coffee, teabags, creamer, and sugar). My only disappointment (since I had to spend the evening in the room after the conference I was attending had ended for the day) was that the only channels in English on the TV were the BBC and some ancient movie channel showing a grainy print of the Untouchables the night I was there. The TV isn't even opposite the bed, either, but off to the side, though there's really nowhere else from which to watch it. Altogether, a friendly, convenient, and comfortable place to sleep for a night or two.

The location is superb! Exit A2 of the Sheung Wan MTR station is just 1 minute walk from the hotel. 7 Eleven is just few shops away in the same row with hotel. Tourist attractions like PMQ, Tai Kwun, Graham Street Art, Lan Kwai Fong, SOHO and Jenny Bakery (Sheung Wan branch) are within walkable distance from the hotel. We grabbed chances to try classical Hong Kong style breakfast in few restaurants nearby like Shui Kee Coffee (for ham egg instant noodles+ french toast + coffee) , Lan Fong Yuen (for pork chop macaroni + famous milk tea) , Maxim's Palace (for Dim Sum) and Sheng Kee Congee (for Fish Belly + Beef Conggee). Homy Hotel Central definitely is the best choice for travelers who are planning to depart to Macau by ferry. Ticket counter and ferry terminal which located at Shun Tak Centre is accessible by walking underground from exit A2 to exit D of Sheung Wan MTR station. Staffs are very helpful. The rooms we stayed are comfortable and cleaned daily.

My stayed at iclub Sheung Wan Hotel was quite pleasant. Iclub Sheung Wan Hotel was within walking distance to Sheung Wan MTR station. When you arrived at Hongkong airport, you can take airport express to Hongkong station. There was airport shuttle bus to transfer you to the hotel which was very convenient. The hotel also provided some bread and coffee for free. You can grab some during your check-in. There were also lots of nice restaurant/places within walking distance such as Macau Ferry Terminal, western market….

We had an enjoyable 3 nights stay. I like the Chinese antique furniture – modern amenities with a good blend of traditional design. We love the big bed with comfortable pillows, everything smell good! Good location with lots of eateries and close to MTR stations – Central, Hong Kong and Sheung Wan. For travel to Macau, the Hong Kong ferry terminal is nearby – from Hotel turn left, walk down hill along Wellington Street to Bonham Strand, then turn right to Hillier Street, go underground via Sheung Wan MTR entrance/exit A2 and get out at entrance/exit D.

We booked 3 rooms ( 2 standard, 1 suite). The room is very modernly designed and well equipped with the basic amenities. The staff is very helpful and friendly. My family member was given a surprise cake and handmade card on her birthday. Really thoughtful. However, breakfast is quite basic with little selections, but we are fine with it. In terms of location, it is approx. 15 mins walk to sheung wan mtr station and the same distance to the ferry terminal to Macau. It is also located near to the tram stop at Western Market. Overall, an enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend to others if you don't mind the walking the mtr station.

The LKF @ Kau U Fong Hotel is a jewel of a hotel, in particular in its price market. Nicely appointed rooms with loads of traditional Asian flair adding a touch of romanticism to the modern facilities. Centrally located right around the corner from Wellington and a step away from Soho, it can easily be reached by foot from Sheung Wan MTR station and is still in comfortable reach from Central and all its gorgeous shopping. The actual Lan Kwai Fong area is also just a stroll afar so it is hard to figure what kind of traveller wouldn't find its fill at this hotel. Sole constraint for business travelers is lack of w working desk du to the notoriously small Hong Kong room sizes and the lack of free internet services is a bit annoying, more so as it is impossible to get signal for PCCW in the rooms. Overall nevertheless a great stay!

We appreciated all the superb facilities offered by the hotel, you may think it's expensive but if you are able to take advantage of the facilities available it's very good value for money & it should meet your expectations, it certainly did our; it won't let you down. The location is perfect for the Central area, the MTR is five minutes walk away & it's easy to get to the ferry quays for Kowloon etc. the hotel has a range of restaurants from the lounge to Michelin star French cuisine restaurants. The swimming pool is definitely worth trying, there can't be many other pools in HK with such views.

Location-wise, the hotel is located just a few minutes away from Sheung Wan MTR station, which itself is surrounded by supermarket, fast food restaurants and cafe. If you are a passenger of Airport Express from HK International Airport, you can take the shuttle bus (H2) to reach here too, making the whole process convenient and easy for you. Apart from the Starbucks cafe on the Ground Floor of the hotel, Lin Heung Kui (a renowned dim sum house in Sheung Wan) is just a stone's throw away too for great breakfast. The room is spacious enough for two persons with a coffee/tea-making machine and TV replete with digital channels. The bathroom is also divided into two sections and filled with all the essentials (soaps, toothbrush etc). The friendly and attentive concierge staff were a plus point too. Also, the hotel provides luggage storage even after you have checked out from the hotel for up to 24 hours. Overall, we had a comfortable stay at the hotel and will definitely come back again

Walking distance to central and LKF as well as Wan Chai. Plus it's on top of the Admiralty MTR station so access to Kowloon is quick and easy too. Rooms were clean and spacious, big comfortable bed as you'd expect. I did find them to be very dated though and in need of a good old freshen up and modernisation. The gym is small and a bit dark but fine for a quick work out. The pool was nice with a good view.

Mini hotel as the name suggests offers basic accommodation but at an extremely central location. It is located right in Central next to Lan Kwai Fong, Soho, Mid Level, and Sheung Wan. You can easily walk to these locations within minutes. In addition, Central subway station is only about a five minute walk away. If you want to go to the outlying islands, the pier is about a ten minute walk. The rooms are clean but, however, are small. As a tourist, I only use my room to sleep and to bath since I am out most of the day and most of the night anyway. Therefore, this is not an issue for me. I always use this hotel whenever I am in Hong Kong.

Rooms are very chic and worth the price compared to other 5 star hotels in the area. Rooftop bar offers amazing views at night. Breakfast is great and teatime set is also delicious. The basement pools are pretty cool, especially since there was no one when we went. Don't let the location put you off, the MTR station is actually within walking distance and you can cab to anywhere anyways. Recommended.

The hotel was rather easy to find once you past the Wing On building if coming from Hong Kong Airport Express station. It was a bit of a walk as the overhead walkways did not connect directly into the nearby buildings. The staff were professional and polite. I had quite an unpleasant experience as a couple cut my queue to check in as I was waiting for the staff to finish up with another family. The front desk staff promptly attended to me after realising the situation and politely requesting the couple to wait for their turn so that made me quite impressed. Check in (and check out) was efficient. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room. It was clean, spacious and very modern. The toilet and shower area was a bit cramped (though just right for solo travellers) but well stocked with clean new towels and amenities. Shades in the room were already drawn down due to the lack of views (hotel location is facing other office buildings) but the lighting and whole feel of the room was like a 5 star hotel. There was also free wifi and an adapter in the room. The hotel is very close to Sheung Wan MTR station, just turn right once you exit through the front doors, turn right at the corner and just 1 block down is exit B of the MTR station. Takes maybe 3 mins to walk there. Train fare to Central MTR station is HKD4 and Causeway Bay is HKD5. However, if you fancy a walk instead, you can take a 15 stroll up to Central (due to the window shopping that I was doing and the lunch crowd at that time) if not it might take only half the time to reach the Central shopping centres/mid-level escalators. Very good value for that price to stay at Hong Kong Island. I will definitely recommend it to other travellers. Also as I booked through Agoda, check in and check out procedure was simple and fast with the voucher. As I was checking out that day, there was another couple who had gone to the bank to draw cash as their overseas credit cards were not accepted

Gave up on my tsuen wan hotel after my last stay and decided to place myself closer to where i conduct my business. Although room rate was higher at bishop lei it was so worth it. Room was bigger, bed was comfortable, bathroom facilities were clean and in perfect condition. Area was quiet being mostly residential and the closest mtr station and shopping area are a taxi ride away. Staff was friendly. Wireless internet access was free which is rare for a hk hotel. Found my new home which until today was hk's best kept secret.

We were delighted to be staying at The Pottinger. We were pleasantly surprised by its upscale rooms and space. Although a boutique hotel by nature, the room we booked felt like a 5-star one. The location of the hotel was fantastic too and within walking distance to IFC, the MTR station and food joints all around Central. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a premium, but value-for-money, stay in the city.

This is rated the best hotel in Hong Kong and we saw why. Magnificent designer room (we had a harbour view 70) excellent service - sending us detail on good local restaurants before we arrived was wonderful. The hotel is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The views from the room were superb and nice touches like free mini bar (for everything except wine and spirits) and excellent espresso machine. We did not want to leave.

The hotel is located near Sheung Wan mtr station. Centrally located and near alot of ammenities. Staff is very helpful especially Suki at the front desk, always smiling! Prompt service , our kettle leaks and got an immediate replacement for that. Clean and spacious room, comfy bed, love the complimentary toileteries. The complimentary snacks and drinks at level 1 were life savers especially on our firstday there, coz we were tired and hungry. The mini gym was awesome to burn off the great dimsum we ate! Nepresso machine in the room was a real treat. Not to mention it is near alot of street wall art for some picture perfect moments. Lively area with alot of shops selling birdnest and ginseng. Will definitely return here again. 2 thumbs up!!!

i enjoy my stay in this hotel. the room is compact with basic furniture in contemporary style. gym is cute. swimming pool is too small to swim. location is close to central. you can reach central or admiralty mtr stations easily by taking a public bus. very convenient. not much commercial places around but a supermarket with international supply can make you happy! there is only 1 chair in the room. good for solo traveler. one mirror above the table with lights around is good for make-up. however, due to the fan shape of the room (the hotel is a cylinder tower!), there is some strange reflection from the mirror when you move around the room. room is a bit dark in general. fixed shower head above but it'd be nice to have hand shower. overall impression is value for money and i'll stay there again.

Wonderful suite located very near Sheung Wan, plenty of eateries in the area (Starbucks, MacDs, Japanese, Viet, Dim Sum, etc, you name it...) and convenience stores were a stones throw away too. The premises were fantastic. Booked a suite and the place was absolutely gorgeous. Very clean, and huge by Hong Kong standards. At night it was very quiet too. Gym was well equipped too, not huge but not too small spacially. Only thing missing was a swimming pool, but no complains there. Would definitely come back again. Complimentary Starbucks voucher was a great touch.

My trip was 1 more stay to Hong Kong because of the typhoon, which delayed my flight. I reserved City View but upgraded to Harbor View, and the staff were very kind and didn't say anything unnecessary. The sauna was small but clean, and the amenity quality was great. The amenity inside the room was a Bottega Veneta product. The Harvard view room was really the best. It is expensive room rate but minibar is not free, so I felt sorry. The indoor pool was rather small. Although the room view was good, I wonder if I will visit next time because the room rate is too high. But it was one of the best hotels I've ever used.

i want to just start my review off with "stay at this hotel." just in case you don't read the rest of my review. i absolutely loved this place. first off it is a beautiful and clean boutique hotel in a great location of the city. there is dining, shopping, and nightlife around every corner. the rooms were incredibly clean and they provide a complimentary mini bar. of course they have free wifi with good connection speeds. our room had apple tv set up on the television which was a nice change from the $10 old movie selections i have come to expect from hotels of this caliber. the bed was comfortable and the shower was spacious. but after saying all of this the best part of the hotel is the staff. william, ada, and another gentleman (who's name i regrettably can't remember, i'm sorry) were always there to suggest the most amazing things to do. please speak to the staff about any questions and ask for their recommendations. i feel i have said enough and i would once again suggest staying here while in hong kong.

It's only 5 minutes walk to Sheung Wan MTR station, only a stop to Central MTR Station which connect you to Hong Kong Airport Express station. One of the staff named "Brandon" and he is super friendly. Efficient, helpful and smiling. The other is the security staff who also very kind. The room is unique and modern. Maybe people said its small but hey it's Hong Kong. You'll get free mini bar items, free Internet, free breakfast, free laundry, free happy hours drink. The price is quite cheap consider the location and freebies. Will come back again :)

It is hard to come across good deals on Hong Kong accommodation. Mingle at the Eden is a great option if you are looking for something a bit less expensive than most hotels in the city. The room my friend and I stayed in was larger than I expected, and very clean and nice. The location is outstanding because it is near Lan Kwai Fong, the Mid-Levels Escalators, and two metro stops. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location, walking distance to central and LKF as well as Wan Chai. It also has the Admiralty MTR station in the shopping centre below so quick access to Kowloon also. The rooms were a good size, traditional and a little dated decor wise but less so than the Conrad next door. The pool and spa area is very nice, pretty quiet and well equipped. Didn't eat here so I can't comment on that. Check in and check out process were fast, efficient and friendly. Will definitely stay again for my next HK trip.

the best thing about this hotel is the service. the staff are very friendly, accommodating, and very efficient. it is located about 4-6mins away (by foot) from sheung wan mtr station and hkd20 cab ride away from lan kwai fong and soho. there are circle k outlets, a 711, and a welcome supermarket nearby. it is surrounded with coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants as well. there's a bazaar near wing lok st. every sunday. the rooms are very clean and the hotel smells really good. i've been traveling to hong kong since i was a child and this year alone, i flew to hong kong 4 times and i have always stayed in kowloon hotels -- and sohotel made me feel that tsim sha tsui hotels are overrated. this may not be the biggest and most beautiful hotel i've stayed in but it sure is the best in terms of cleanliness and service. did i mention that there's free wifi internet service in every room and you can call as much local numbers you want -- for free?
