There were bugs and spiders all over our room and our friend's room - stay somewhere else. ”

We arrived at 9pm on a Friday (after reception closed) looking forward to a weekend in red hill for a wedding. We self checked into our room, and noticed there were ants all over the wall. And then we saw all the cobwebs and dead/trapped bugs in the corners of the room. We went into the bathroom only to find about 5 of those big flying ants all over the toilet seat, and the shower floor was covered in bugs. Pulling back the doona, little spiders scattered. I'm not even joking. We couldn't get into anyone at the hotel for an hour and when we did, she didn't seem phased - simply saying she lived in the area and was used to bugs. What a joke. You expect accommodation to at least be CLEAN. We were moved to a cheaper room, with a 90's bathroom and broken shower door. Our old room was cleaned and our poor friends were allocated to it when they arrived the next day. Only to leave for a few hours and return to find it also full of bugs, again. Stay somewhere else.

I feel bad giving saying I would not recommend it, as the location & staff are great!”

We could live without the TV and bar fridge, though there were times we craved both. But the main downside of the accommodation was the shower. Most of the time, it was like a dribble (probably due to them using bore water, collected on their roof). Need I say more. However, the heating in the room was great, and the room was spacious (room 6). I heard other rooms were much smaller. We ate at the restaurant on one evening, where the food and service were also great. The location is also brilliant, especially for the wedding we went to and most wineries. If they could just fix their plumbing, I would have given them 4.5 stars.
