My stay at Mojo Hotel was mixed. While the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was well-maintained with ample toiletries, several aspects fell short of expectations. The reception staff, though efficient, lacked warmth. I felt like an interruption rather than a welcomed guest during the check-in process. The parking situation was particularly disappointing. The listing advertised included parking, but I was later informed it was on a first-come, first-served basis. Consequently, I was forced to park my car on the street. To avoid paying for street parking, I had to move my vehicle before 8:00 AM, which was inconvenient. This discrepancy between the advertised amenity and the reality of the situation was unacceptable. Finally, the in-room beverage options were limited to instant coffee and tea. For those who prefer brewed coffee, this was a significant drawback. In summary, while the room itself was clean and comfortable, the lack of friendly reception and the misleading parking information significantly impacted my overall experience.
Enjoyed our stay. We are aware that this is not a 3/4+ star establishment but would like to give recommendations. Reception staff more professional and reception area /desk clean and organized. The smell of the food bins form Mojo market was at times unbearable. Noise of the recycled glass bins from Mojo market until the early morning hours disturbing (We stayed on the sea view' side) 2nd small balcony leading to the top /mezzanine floor has not been cleaned /swept in months, neither has the kitchen window. The hostel's location is great, near a supermarket and the sea, with many eateries nearby as well. But that's about it for the good parts. I booked a bed in a female dorm and when I arrived and showed them the booking confirmation. I was informed that I was assigned a mixed dorm and have to pay more for a female dorm. After putting me in a mixed dorm, I went down again to show them the booking confirmation AGAIN. I also sought Agoda's customer service staff for help which he had kindly called Mojo Hotel and told them to give me a bed in the female dorm. The female staff finally told me that their system had an error and showed my booking as a mixed dorm (a made-up excuse if you ask me since I showed them the confirmation paper twice). Her friend showed me to the correct dorm but was also unfriendly. I stayed for 4 nights and every night was super noisy with loud noises coming from other dorms, slamming of doors. They have dorm rules that tell people to be quiet after a certain time but no one cares to enforce it. SO BRING YOUR EARPLUGS AS THEY WILL BE A SAVING GRACE. My roommate even brought someone back to the dorm where they talked non stop for 2h and disturbing all peace. Cleanliness wise it is okay for the price.
The facilities are nice, location is very convenient. The only downside is that they move you around alot, you book a certain room online, they'll move to a different one. And while you getting comfortable, someone will come in and tell you they moving you to a different room because other people are coming. Even though you paid for that space and room, which is very annoying because sometimes they call you to inform you while you doing other things. It ruins your entire plans because you now worried about your stuff etc. Overall the place is nice, staff members are excellent and facilities are great. The Location is very convenient and Ideal

Mo Jo is a very reasonably priced hotel In the heart of Sea Point directly above the Mo Jo Market which is an awesome dining venue with many great dining options and fantastic live music … in my opinion a must visit … We even had a room with great view over the sea point pools and ocean …. The room was a very nice size offered self catering option, was clean and had a nice bathroom area. They also have off street onsite parking which is a big win However the down side of this property, possibly explains why it is so reasonably priced …. 1. Very noisy, the neighbours were very loud and noisy 24/7 at both sides and this was made worse by the fact that we shared a balcony separated by only a screen despite the music from below going on til quite late it was no where near as bad as the noise from the neighbours 2. The aircon was placed high on the ceiling and never worked properly and with load shedding the room Was very hot sleeping became tricky, in gave the upstairs room was a bit too hot to sleep in 3. Smoking is allowed on balconies and cigarette and other smoke was regularly wafting into our room making it quite unpleasant and we were unable to leave the patio door and windows open to get any fresh air 4. Our TV didn’t work and no one bothered coming to fix it 5.. The lift is a pain and very slow, there is only one lift and service staff from all over are constantly using it. 6. The property has no pool or other facilities, but is above the wonderful MO JO market I would definitely recommend it for young travellers and suggest that older travelers look for a quieter alternative
