Rendevous Hotel in Auckland was really nice. The hotel itself is really comfortable with its own bar and restaurant and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The bed itself is really comfy. Value for money was brilliant. Was sorry that we had only one night to stay there but will stay again when we are back in Auckland. Views from the ...

Naumi is very good hotel It is clean, rooms are adequately furnished and large. Staff and room service is excellent. In house restaurant has wide variety of veg and non veg dishes infact they also have Indian Chef. More over there is an excellent Indian restaurant next door to the Hotel Premises. Strongly recommend this Hotel after staying in many hotels in Auckland .

i have no complaints or negative things to say about auckland city oaks - it was a really good stay. i have stayed in several places like this in auckland but oaks is the best so far. other places offer free internet but the service is so poor and slow it's hardly worth having (such as the quadrant). indeed auckland city oaks was very good in all their provisions. i li...

Fantastic Hotel! Quick and easy check-in/ check out. Very clean. Great location! Excellent friendly staff. Couldnt really fault anything from my experience except the car park. Car park was a bit pricey however it seems to be a standard price with hotels in Auckland with the exception of this car park being quite spacious compared to others. Overall excellent experienc...

This hotel was perfectly adequate for our 2 day post cruise stay. This hotel is defiantly in the budget category and basically its one of those " what you pay for is what you get " deals similar to Ibis and Formulae 1 chains. However that being said the staff were helpful and welcoming and the rooms were clean but basic and the food was basic but was good value fo...

This hotel is centrally located. Absolutely No complaint. Clean, good facilities, free wi-fi available in room. Good restaurants are available withing walking distance. Terminus of SkyBus, the most convenient airport transfer is located just near this hotel. Hotel staff are well behaved. I shall prefer to stay in this hotel if I go again to Auckland. I highly recommen...

As part of attending a wedding in Auckland, we booked 4 rooms and requested they be adjacent for ease of organisation and coordination - Waldorf was able to accommodate the request. Location is close to the Auckland CBD but not too close to get the city noise. It's about a 10 minute walk to Queens St/Britomart. The hotel is ideal for business or family travellers as th...

The location is a bit difficult to find (for me at least). Because I arrived in Auckland at the Pier and the Google Map said it's just 700m away (a bit too near to cab), but it wasn't easy to locate because the building is narrow and is located on a slight upslope. If one takes a taxi, it might be a lot easier and will arrive right at the doorstep. The hotel has no fr...

We stayed at the Metro Suites Apartment Hotel on the 15th Floor. We had previously stayed with Luxy NZ Apartments which shares the same building as Metro Suites and found both companies to be very similar. The Check-in process was quick and easy. The reception (located on level 2) allowed us to check-in ahead of our check-time as the room was available. Free wifi was...

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while we were in Auckland. Being so close to the motorway we found we could come and go to our main destination in Green Lane easily and quickly. The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped and a great place to return to each day to have something to eat, relax and have a good sleep. Turns out one of us, years b...

Location is amazing, skybus (airport bus, city route, stop #7018, basically is the last stop), the bus stop is just outside the hotel (with in 10 seconds walk); HOTEL is in the city area (says about 8 mins walk (I think) to AUCKLAND sky tower, very close to), the opposite side is already the shopping area (HOTEL is about the end of the main street, also next to a huge ...

The IBIS at Auckland Airport is a great example of budget accommodation in the city and apart from its price is now a convenient location in Auckland as a direct result of the Waterview tunnel allowing rapid access to the CBD as well as the option of Manukau nearly next door or rapid access to the Northern or Western Motorways. Great Staff, excellent service and well l...

I traveled with 2 friends and we stayed at the triple room. QSB is located very strategically in the town (off Queen Street) which is the reason I booked. Easy access to public transportation, supermarket, shops, walking distance to the Auckland harbor and Auckland tower. kitchen facilities is also good. Welcoming staffs. Check in and check out in a breeze. We got th...

Very clean hotel, hospitable hosts.will definately stay again. This hotel was all about location, location, location. Close to bars and pubs so we could eat out etc without our hire care. Our room also had a spa, which was very nice to depart on.Lovely big room, so suited our family. Complimentary airport transfer was also very convienient. We will definately be staying...

On arrival, driving up in our hire the friendly greeting from the concierge was appreciated. He offered options for parking and recommended the valet parking as best value for money and indeed it was at NZD 25.00 per 24 hours - a great start! Check-in was friendly and seemless with our bags arriving less than 5 minutes after we got to our room. The location of the ho...

Was travelling by car with my wife and 2 daughters. Positives: they offer a smartly designed "social tribe" configuration that creates a private suite between two rooms - offering 1 king bed + 2 double beds. This gave my wife and I privacy and the kids their own space (something we need at the end of a full day). The ID was very modern chic. Hotel offers $45 valet for ...

Great Auckland hotel with superb views of the harbor from the upper floors (lower rooms may lack view). The 32nd floor two bedroom suite is well-appointed with every amenity and includes a kitchenette with large refrigerator and freezer. There is also a dishwasher and a washing machine. The staff is friendly and helpful and best of all, free 1GB of wifi per day, whi...

We booked a 2 bedroom super suite at Swiss Belsuites Victoria Park for a wedding in Auckland. The apartments were great. They were spacious and very well maintained. The view from our room was great too. Only issue we had was parking. Yes there was street parking but you had to get up 8am to go pay for parking. Either than that very nice place. Will certainly book th...

Second time staying in the M Gallery by Sofitel where in also had few nights' stay in Milan months ago. Recently renovated in a formerly tea house, the boutique hotel has a unique taste and class while sitting on the vivid Queen Street. Welcomed by their specially brewed tea and sincere conversation, I was kindly upgraded for the first night's stay and my other reque...

i stayed at this hotel twice (including the return journey). the hotel is in the best location - straight across from the international terminal. you simply walk out of the international terminal, across the zebra crossing, and into the hotel reception. one of the things i like about auckland airport (compared to say, sydney airport) is that you can walk between th...

It is my last stop of my biz trip. I have stayed at 3 other hotels during my week of business over ANZ. This is the best experience among the rests, and the price is reasonably priced. The subtle differences I notice are (1) complimentary water x 2 bottles (2) comfort slipper to use in the room (3) modern & clean (4) the food is delicious (5) buffet breakfast is good (...
Cheap places to stay in Auckland Region

I am from Auckland but live a fair way out of the city. If I plan on spending the night in town and going out, I always enjoy finding myself a room to crash in afterwards to prevent driving or spending money on taxis etc. Nomads is the definition of a central downtown location, the staff were more than happy to accommodate when a friend of mine managed to misplace my r...

I had a good time at Silverfern, the staff were super helpful and friendly, bedroom was nice and clean with other interesting guests. The kitchen was large with good appliances and equipment. Toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. Location is good near main bus terminal and Sky Tower. This seems to be one of the best hostels in Auckland.

My stay was pretty good. I had a nice surprise when I found out my dorm was shared, but I had pleasant roommates. The rooms were a bit small, rooms only had cubby sized lockers. Bathrooms were clean. It was fairly loud at night because k'road is the party strip, but nothing overbearing to where we couldn't sleep. The breakfast is only toast. Staff was friendly, they ha...
All the hardware are arguably there. Just the software are missing (service, reception, tidiness etc). Next to highway but quiet inside. Hostel has no sign outside the building. No reception office but manager is hidden and available onsite. Room is moulded. Poorly maintained. Comfortable bed. Security may be a concern for some people. Nice neighbourhood I would say,...

Wow, what a gem! Unfortunately had to stay at some disgusting hostels in Auckland until I discovered The Station - So beautifully cleaned daily by professional cleaners, brand new beds, sheets etc, spacious rooms with big windows, clean kitchen and rad lounge room. Honestly for the price and what you get it's not worth at all staying at a more expensive hostel and this...

Here are few points to take note on. The kitchen is pretty stuffy and its hard to cook , at least for me. I do see cockroaches around as well . The wifi here is okay but during the peak hours, 7-9am and 5-10 pm, it's really bad. For me the bed is really comfortable and I love it a lot and toilet is decent enough for nice hot shower. All and all , good for few nigh...

Conveniently located in Auckland central and within walking distance to many attractions. Sky Bus stops along Queen Street provide easy connectivity to Auckland International Airport. Property is well maintained and clean. Staff are friendly and always helpful. YMCA offers free activities such as Soup night, BBQ Thursday and a new Sunday Brunch. Optional breakfast avai...

THIS IS PERFECT AFFORDABLE ACCOMMODATION FOR BACKPACKERS AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE WANTING PRIVATE ROOMS WITH OR WITHOUT THE PRIVATE BATHROOM. I MYSELF PERSONALLY RATHER PERFER HAVING A PRIVATE BATHROOM, ITS MORE INTIMATE AND COMFORTABLE. I HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES BECAUSE THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY, WILLINGLY HELPFUL, FLEXIBLE IN DEALING WITH A VARIETY OF NATIONALITIES AND...

In a very quiet location yet very close to the city centre, and just 5 min walk from the great French market La Cigale. Nice garden, huge double room under the roof with lots of storage and even a little balcony. The staff at reception wise nice and helpful. The only concern (not the backpackers' fault though) was other guests talking loudly at 2am in the patio, which ...

I stayed in Haka Lodge for one night, and it was a great stay! i’ll be back again here next week. It’s pretty cheap here and location is pretty close to central. You can walk to Countdown supermarket for ten minutes and walk to central for 20-30 minutes. Since Auckland is pretty laid back city, no need to rush to everywhere, so you can walk here. Pros: The lodge is ...

We staying in the double room for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The host who greated us was lovely (i think she was from Japan) I didn't spend much time relaxing around the house as we had so much to see around Auckland but it looked comfortable and clean. Sleeping downstairs was a little noisy in the mornings when what sounded like an elephant woke up and ...

I really like the manager, he is a really friendly person, who takes care of your wellbeing. Had some great laughs together. Also the people are really friendly, because right on my first day got to know, who invited for their dinner. Also you take short time to get to the cbd, also the Victoria Park is not too far away. Overall a really nice accomandation and defin...

I had an amazing stay at the Hostel. It is cozy, charming and welcoming. I felt immediately home although I just stayed two nights. Nice people around who are all good connected. Seems more like a big private house. Very loving decoration all over the place. It's just amazing and definitely the best hostel I've been to in New Zealand. I really recommend this place!
Booked at the last minute as other accommodation fell through. Happy I did as this was the perfect place! Clean, quiet, close to everything and the host is lovely. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Orewa! Home away from home, thanks for having me.

Didn't feel safe there. Lots of people hanging around outside. Big argument kicked off next door during the night. Kids running around all hours. Tried to put us in a shared bathroom room although we had booked en suite due till pricing error on website. However we were moved after we continued to challenge him

Great place if you have a stay over in Auckland. With taxi's into the centre of Auckland about the same price as a nights stay at Kiwi, it makes total sense to stay near the airport, especially as Auckland city is pretty poor. Airport pick up & drop off make your stay complete & if you're up early enough breakfast is a bonus. The rooms are large and clean and everythin...

SUPERB PLACE ! NEW AND STAFFS WERE WONDERFUL. TO FIND THIS PLACE, GO TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF MASSEY UNIV IN ALBANY AND GO UP TO TOP PASS THROUGH PARKING PLACE. TRY TO FIND "TE RITTO". THIS IS THE RECEPTION FOR CHECK IN & OUT. 2 MIN TO ALBANY MALL ! PERFECT PLACE FOR ME !

The rate is quite cheap compared to other accomodations in Auckland. Location is 10mins plus walk from CBD. Doesnt have parking facility. Can book via Secure Parking which is 10mins away from hotel. Starbuck and St Piere sushi just located in front of hotel. Hotel room is just nice for us. Very clean for our standard. If you dont mind hearing noises outside of hotel ...

Great location for walking around Auckland (we parked up the car and didn't use it again until we left). The facilities were fine, though a hob would have helped as we were a self-catering group. With plenty of restaurants in Auckland this wasn't a big issue. We got caught out with the parking charge as I didn't read the information in the room and a figure wasn't stat...

The room was lovely and spacious. We had the breakfast and it was delicious! Best part is the carpark--we've been to quite a number of hotels in Auckland and this is the first to have a carpark with direct access to the hotel. So convenient! Will definitely be back.

I would not hesitate to stay at Quest Auckland again. The studio room I was comfortable and had almost everything I needed. It was great to be able to use the in-room washing machine and to cook simple meals thanks to the fully-equipped kitchenette. The staff was friendly and professional, and there is parking right below the 'hotel'. Since Quest Auckland is located...

The apartment was fantastic. It had everything you could possibly need: microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher, iron, hairdryer etc... The location was extremely convenient. The airport flyer bus stops down the street about a 5-10 minute walk. The price was great compared to other hotels around. I put 3 stars for value for money but Auckland is expensive in general.

A perfect place to explore Parnell and Auckland. It was quiet and the room was large. The small kitchen had everything you needed. There was also a washer and dryer in the unit. The staff recommended to use Discount Taxi for our trips from and to the airport. That company was great and a lot less than others. We took the Hop On Hop Off Explorer bus and one of the...

We arrived late to the place Friday evening, the gentleman on the reception was so kind, the same goes to the gentleman on Sunday morning. This will be our home away from home as we travel to Auckland quiet a few times throughout the year. The room was so spacious and clean. Its just amazing!!

We appreciated the courtesy airport transfers greatly, especially that we were picked up promptly after we 'phoned just after midnight . We were concerned, when choosing, that we would be disappointed as there was so many places to choose from and found it very difficult to choose- within our price range- and you can never be sure that you have made the best choice and...

First of all, I’m really impressed by the modern design of every part of hotel as well as the professional staff uniform. I think the reality is a lot better than the photos shown on website, not to mention it’s cleaniness, facilities and value for money. Secondly, the location is awesome as the SkyBus stop is just next to the entrance of hotel. If I come to Auckland a...

Quest Apartments are GREAT! I liked the pleasant quiet location with proximity to shops, tourist attractions, etc. I was able to walk from Auckland Strand Station to the building and also to the SkyBus for trip to airport. The only downside for me was the minimal internet allowance. Also would not recommend their "Breakfast pack."

Ideally located for my requirements - midway between Albany and Auckland and very close to Takapuna. A good selection of restaurants and bars in the complex. The staff is always extremely helpful when I need things done - printing documents, changing length of stay, etc, etc. If you're not after four and a half/five star accommodation and want to avoid CBD rates, the P...

A late booking to attend a wedding by myself on a limited budget and no longer sure about driving in Auckland traffic. Found Auckland North Shore Motels and Holiday Park easy to find and handy enough to the Devonport wedding venue. Staff were friendly, facilities more than adequate and very clean. Thank you.

I've stayed in many hotels throughout Auckland, some were expensive and some were at the cheaper end of the market. This hotel is quiet and the rooms are really good, the pillows and bed are very comfortable. The only negative thing is that the bathrooms are not updated, but they are useable and everything works well. The room had a good selection of channels on t...

Haka Hotel has one of the best view of Auckland I have seen from a hotel, bed was as comfortable as 5 star hotels bed. Cooking and utensils supplied were clean and sufficient for simple cooking though the hotel do not allow "strong odour" food. Its located very close to plenty of nice food joints too.. Off street parking wasn't hard to find for us and of course lastly...

What a find; this old hotel has been remodeling rooms and has terrific charm; all staff that we encountered were focused on our satisfaction; meals were delicious; location is in the middle of a small set of shops/restaurants near the water - we had a great view of Auckland across the bay.

Large apartment with good view of the sky tower. Complete amenities. Excellent staff! Only setback is that the serviced apartment building is shared with long-term residents who, during our last day (it was a saturday), had a loud party till 3am. Not the management's fault by any means. Alas I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an apartment-style getaway ...

I stayed one night in Auckland, I have stayed at other places but this was the best and it was good value for money (the strong pound helped). The staff were friendly & efficient and the room was a good size, modern and clean. Although I didn't use the restaurant, it is convenient and the 24 hour room service is a good feature. Near enough to the city centre for a taxi...

We were only in Auckland for the weekend. We have stayed at this Hotel many times and always completely satisfied with the rooms and the pricing. Location is excellent, minutes walk to the shops and restaurants. Free off road parking. Very Helpful and Friendly staff. Lovely bright clean rooms. We'll be back x

booking a hotel in Auckland was difficult and there was a huge price jump between backpackers and hotel rooms. I prefer to have a hotel room with my own space and shower but most were out of my price range, until I found City Lodge which was the right price. I was pleasantly surprised to find it tidy with a comfortable bed. it was exactly what I needed and only a 5 to...

Was tricky to find as the sat bag took us to great south road in Auckland - which was a row of shops, instead of great south road in Epsom in Auckland..... I'm sure many people make that same mistake. The hotel was in easy location for what we needed, close to a beautiful park. Thoroughly pleased with the high standards in the hotel. Absolutely if we need to go to Auck...

I chose to stay at a backpackers for this night because my flight arrived in Auckland at 1am and had planned to travel onwards to Rotorua before lunch time the same day, so all in all I was only gonna spend 6 hours max in the hotel. I wasn't expecting much but I was rather pleased about my stay. The premises were kept clean from the common areas, the bathrooms to the r...

had an amazing and very romantic stay at the riverside matakana hotel. beautiful views, wonderful house with everything you need, great cleaning service, excellent hosts, so many things to do in the area - wonderful beaches and wineries. thankyou so much riverside matakana i have already recommended you to friends and family and i can't wait to come back for another s...

Located in Devonport a 5 minute walk to the short Ferry ride to downtown Auckland this oasis was perfect for our three day stay. Centrally located, close to restaurants, the Old Vic Theatre, the various ferries that run in Auckland Harbour and with a view. Airy Victorian style home reeks of character with an accommodating staff. A first class B&B.

the selling point of this property must be the hosts willingness to help make sure you enjoy your stay. a great spot to explore the region, spend at least 2-3 days. well worth the trip out from auckland. matakana has a host of great restaurants and activities in galore.
The house is located in a nice neighborhood. There is a massage chair that works perfectly. The space is more than adequate for 5 people but the house is a bit rundown and dirty. There are some new appliances like the microwave and insinkerator but most are old and dirty.

I love staying in this hotel. It is always spotlessly clean and the staff are very efficient and friendly. I always use the gym and pool as they are amongst the best on offer in Auckland Hotels. The doormen/women are super friendly and very helpful with ideas and suggestions. Top Notch!!

I have stayed at the Stamford Plaza many times, it is very good hotel that maintains a very high standard of service. Two reason's I keep coming back is it's very convenient location to the CBD and the waterfront and the other is that it has the best swimming pool and fitness centre of any hotel in Auckland. The main restuarant is superb, the room are ok. Will stay aga...

This place really is a rustic little piece of paradise. Close enough to Auckland to be convenient, but far enough away to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, the owners do a great job making their guests feel welcome. We stayed in a little lodge room which is a seperate stand-alone building next to the main house and were fortunate enough to be the only ones the...

We chose Princess Wharf so we could walk to most locations in central Auckland. It is a great location and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are good size, and well appointed. Only downside is when Cruise Liners arrive early in the morning as they are very noisy. I would however stay again as they really are so convenient and quite well appointed.

I stayed in Haka Lodge for one night, and it was a great stay! i’ll be back again here next week. It’s pretty cheap here and location is pretty close to central. We stayed in Remuera as the last stop on a round the world trip. We caught up with our grown children and needed a large, comfortable, multilevel place in a great location in Auckland and this villa didn't disappoint. From the moment of our arrival up to departure the stay was great. The villa lacks for nothing with indoor and outdoor living areas, fully functional kit...
The Tower Suite is clean, spacious and the location is great, within walking distance to the Sky Tower and Queen's street. Sarah is a great and helpful host, she helped with our check-in and it was a breeze to communicate with her. We could access all the facilities in the tower, swimming pool, spa, sauna & gym.

However, the best time to visit is during the spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) months, when the weather is pleasant, and the crowds are smaller. Spring brings blooming flowers and lively festivals, while autumn offers stunning foliage and comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities.
Summer (December to February) is peak tourist season, attracting visitors eager to enjoy Auckland's beaches and outdoor events. Essential Travel Tips for Navigating Auckland
Traveling to Auckland can be a breeze with a few handy tips under your belt. First and foremost, familiarize yourself with the local customs and etiquette. New Zealanders, or "Kiwis," are known for their friendliness and hospitality, so don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation. It's customary to greet people with a smile and a friendly "Kia ora." Understanding this simple gesture can enhance your interactions during your stay.
Currency in Auckland is the New Zealand dollar (NZD), and it’s wise to have some cash on hand for small purchases, although credit cards are widely accepted. ATMs are easily accessible throughout the city, making it convenient to withdraw cash as needed. Safety is generally not a concern in Auckland, but like any major city, it’s advisable to stay vigilant, especially in crowded areas.
When packing for your trip, consider Auckland's variable weather. Layers are key, as temperatures can fluctuate throughout the day. A light jacket, comfortable walking shoes, and a reusable water bottle will serve you well. Don’t forget your sunscreen, especially during the summer months, as the UV rays can be quite strong even on overcast days. With these tips in mind, you’re set to make the most of your Auckland adventure!
