Booked two VIP rooms facing the river. We stayed at the 20th floor. Room was large and was inter-connected via a door. The night view facing the river was beautiful with lighted bridges and cruises sailing by. I was earlier hesitating between booking a nearby four star but more costly hotel and Guangzhou Hotel. This three star hotel was cheaper and I was able to book two and better (VIP) rooms. My four days stay was comfortable and location was just 5 minutes walk to the metro. Highly recommended.

Going to Shenzhen BEST WESTERN WAS ALLWAYS MY FIRST CHOICE OF HOTEL. With most hotels in China hotel value preferences as to payments and others are more priorities rather than customers needs. With Best Western hotel customers needs are their first priority. The staffs are so helpful and do all they can with great enthusiasm. My last travel took me to 7 cities in China with 3 days and 7 hotels never did we ever got such a treatment as that of Best Western. A great relief WITH GOOD HELPFULL STAFF AND MANAGEMENT to have on my very last phase of my journey. Greatly pleasing was that of having a room being changed from a superior double bed to a suite. On my return to my room on the second day of stay we found our room left un cleaned and bed left un-made in the state left after sleeping. My wife called the head counter and was so furious. On first the management as and beg forgiveness due to short of staff but would investigate further. After sometime the housekeeper came with her array of equipment and apologize. There about five minutes the manager called and reported that the mistake was that of ours because the light was switched on (not to make the room) . My wife apologized that she did not know the switch exist . Anyway despite the mistake management informed us that they would rather for go and change our room to avoid inconvenience to us. Surprising though was seeing a suite instead of the same size of room booked by us. wow what great fun a new year gift from management for being a member of AGODA.

Hotel room size was ample. Near beijing lu and short walkin distance to peasant movement institute metro station (line 1, yellow) and gongyuanqian metro (line 1/2, yellow/blue). There were nearby convenience stores as well. Hotel staffs wasn't very good with english but they tried their best, much appreciation. Room cleanliness was satisfactory for us. beds were huge. The only down side for us was the aircon it took some time in cooling the room. other than that, we were very satisfied. Counter staff who checked us out even bothered to check if we left anything behind before letting us go. Thank you fuho hotel for the pleasant stay (:

i visit guangzhou almost once a month, and i always stay in this hotel. this is my 2nd review. location the location is not at the center of guangzhou (like tianhe, etc), and is in the haizhu district. but i still love the location since it is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping places, and is not in a touristy area. mcdonalds and kfc are right beside the hotel. and there are several chinese restaurants worth a try. skip the breakfast buffet and have dimsum and tea at the chinese restaurant beside the hotel (near 7-11). another must-try is the chinese hot-pot restaurant near mcdonalds. you will need to wait for a table though if you want to eat at peak hours. with the newly constructed metro station right below the hotel, it is now very easy to go around guangzhou. i always take the metro from the airport to the hotel, even if my flight arrives at 10pm. way cheaper and faster than taking a taxi. the airport express bus (#3 if i'm not mistaken) also drops off / picks up passengers near the hotel. rooms the rooms here are hit-and-miss. if you get the newly renovated rooms, you are in luck because they are really nice. the interiors are modern and very clean. can be compared to other more expensive 4-star hotels in guangzhou. do not be tempted though with their cheapest rooms that go on sale at agoda. i got a room for 300-350rmb only, but they gave me their oldest room - dingy and musty - with very old furnishings. tiles are broken and dirty, clogged shower heads, moldy bathtubs, dirty ceilings, old toilet seats, you name it. i just took this in stride since i know i got the room at a promo rate. good thing i stayed only one night, and that it only happened to me once. but next time i will definitely get the upgraded room. value this hotel for me still ranks as one of the best value-for-money hotels in guangzhou. that single incident will not dissuade me from staying in this hotel again.

We booked 3 rooms at this hotel but when we got there we were told that only one room was available and had to wait for the other 2 rooms. Fortunately, the hotel manager was there to upgrade our rooms to 2 suite rooms which we readily accepted. The hotel was one of the best we have stayed in China, nice grand lobby, and great Chinese restaurant on the 2nd flr. The rooms were clean and big, clean shower and all had free internet access. location wise, very convenient as the food alleys and shopping areas were within walking distances. Famous dessert shop and local delicacy in Shunde was about 10 minutes walk . (turn left from main lobby) night food stall also about 10 minutes walk (turn right from hotel lobby) The concierge was also very helpful when we had to hire a van to take us to Guangzhou. All the front desk staff were able to speak English so that's a plus for English speaking travellers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, business, leisure etc.

This is the third time my husband and I stayed in this hotel, but was our first time booking the hotel online via Agoda for our free and easy holidays with my sister’s family – all together 4 adults and 1 child. We were upgraded from Standard Twin to Deluxe Twin for free for our stay as we booked the hotel during the Agoda special offer. Upon checking in, we decided to extend our 2 nights booking as our flight was in midnight. We were able to extend a half day stay (charged half of the daily rate) – the hotel staff was kind enough to allow us to have the room for additional hour up till 8.00 pm upon our special request. The Deluxe Twin was spacious, but the room at the corner was a bit smaller than others. Location of the hotel is good. If you take a lift to the 2nd floor, where the hotel lobby is, you can access to Beijing Road (shopping area) after walking through a slope. If you go to 1st floor, you will be at Yue Hua Road. Taxi can go by Beijing road, go up to the slope and drop you at the Hotel main entrance, or by Yue Hua Road, you just need to take a lift up to 2nd floor to the hotel lobby. Good to tell the taxi driver the address of the Hotel, as the driver of the taxi we took was confused that with 广州宾馆。 Everything was fine – staff, service, room. The Hotel staff helped my brother-in-law to mail a golf club to other province in China, and it costs only RMB 28. We did not try the restaurants in the Hotel. We went to a restaurant (I think the name is 天极品) in Zhujiang International Mansion. You can take a short walk there from Hotel via Yue Hua Road. The food and service was good in this nice restaurant. We also loved the restaurant 太平馆, which was just a short walk from Hotel along the Beijing Road. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, with lots of shopping!

this is the best hotel for all of our trip. we booked 1 room for 4 person. bed is convenience. AC is so cold. Has 1 washing machine but you can wash 1 time only, after that it will be locked. detergent is available. amenities complete. internet is fast. make sure you have to think how to get google access in China, otherwise your internet will be useless. very close to everywhere. atation is only downstairs. Mall inside the apartment. there are so many good restaurant in the mall. try chef restaurant which offer dimsum. cheap and worth. walking distance to beijingroad tourism and very convenience. surely will stay here again when coming to GZ.

I hereby like to say a special thank you to the staff in the cafe where the breakfast is, i had a client who fainted suddenly in the cafe, beside a male guest who rendered hand to help, the Hotel cafe manager, staffs Mr Mark and the cook Mr Tiger Huang came rushing to help and even help to cook ginger with black sugar when i requested it for my client, they showed the humility of themselves as well as a professional in this 5 stars international hotel.. as we were tourists then, their assistance and concern gives us warm...Hotel management is fortunate to have staffs like them... a big THANK YOU AGAIN TO THOSE WHO RENDERED HELP AND THOSE STAFFS THAT ASSIST...YOUR HELPFULLNESS GIVES WARM TO THOSE WHO NEEDED... Next i like to bring out a suggestion to the handicap guest room, tho the room is spacious but the handicap handle are placed wrongly, 1, the handles are too far apart, the sicks are unable to help themselves down and up from the toilte bowl and the thickness of the handle is far too big for the sick to grip. 2. the shower pipe is to far, as the sicks need to sit on the toilet bowl to be bathe, the length of the shower pipe musst be longer 3. suggest to put a chair in the bath room for the old and the handicap and the sicks to be able to sit for bath, with out a chair, v spacious still cant do anything 4. the normal toilet bowl is abit too low, if sit down, it will be a hard time for them to stand up 5. suggesst to add a bottom wash next to the toilet bowl. for easy wash after bowel 6. should also allow more space next to the bed on one side to allow wheelchair movement and 7. to add in a twin bed for the caretaker..since the handicap rooms are meant for the not valid, they need to have a caretaker, and the caretakers sometimes not their own relatives, so is good to have a separate bed. the above are my suggestion as a memeber of the hotel and a handicapped caretaker views. thank you those who stay in this hotel , you can be SAFE is you stay in here.!

I like this hotel very much for its location, service and cleanliness. If you are coming from the airport best to take the taxi as it is in a small road and not so easy to find for first timers. However, it is just a few minutes walk from subway station Gangding. Just walk down the small road in front of the hotel, turn right when you see the blue signboard showing the way to the subway station, walk round the small mall and the entrance/exit A to the subway is right there in front. There are many malls for hps, pcs and electronics around that area, and many restaurants including KFC and McDonalds if you have to have them. The hotel is in an area away from main roads and traffic and crowds so it is a nice, peaceful and very safe area. The hotel's employees were generally courteous and helpful and the reception staff spoke decent English. I left a small tip (RMB10) for housekeeping daily, and was delighted to receive sweet thank you notes daily from the housekeeping staff. I was impressed that he/she wrote in both Mandarin and good English! Room was big, clean and on the 19th floor but there was only view of adjacent buildings. I got a nice king size bed with a firm mattress which is the kind that I like. The aircon is good but becomes louder when blasting cool air and then quieten down until the next blast. As my aircon unit at home is kinda like that I am used to such noise and therefore not the least bothered by it. Other that that the room is quiet and there is no audible noise from outside. The separate shower and toilet are clean and decent sized, and the room has everything else that I need. I think that this hotel is really value for money and I would recommend this hotel for location and comfort. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Guangzhou.

Oh, I don't want to leave this review because I'm afraid this hotel is going to get busier. It was located on the 6th floor of a commercial building, which located nearby Dongmen market. Reception was very well organized and people were really really nice. They tried to keep speaking English and also tried to support the guests in whatever case. When I booked the room, I left some memo for check-in time, room type and even height, and they carefully read it and responded one by one (nevertheless some were accepted and some were not, though). Room including all the furniture & equipment were well organized and cleaned up, neat & tide. The breakfast was the best among I have experienced at the similar budget in China. Whatelse ... anyway, I enjoyed the accommodation and stay more than fully. I can say it was the best experience in China. One thing, I want to draw an attention is the traffic arrangement. If you catch a taxi in front of the hotel, the only way is to get through the busy and long market street. You'd better try it at one block ahead of the building, so that you may enter the main traffic stream immediately.

We booked a room with one queen bed but got upgraded to one with two queen beds, so we were very pleased with it. Very spacious and convenient with a kitchenette and washing machine available (they provided us with detergent as well). We washed our clothes every night (as the weather was very hot and our clothes were soaked in sweat) and the clothes always dries overnight in the toilet. The hotel is very centrally located with the metro nearby and a shopping centre connected on the ground floor. Just outside the hotel are shopping streets with Beijing Road and many eateries just nearby. Highly recommended and extremely value for money for groups!

As much as I depend on others review, I am not one to go out of my way to write one. However I feel compelled to take the time to write a review for this particular stay. We traveled to Guangzhou to attend the April Canton Fair. We are a party of four and have notified the hotel TWICE that we will have a late check-in. When we arrived at the hotel at 3 a.m. in the morning, the desk clerk informed us that there are no rooms for us. After the initial shock and digesting the fact that we will not get to sleep within the hour, we became very irate. Long story (and I mean a very long story) short, this turned out to be a complete blessing in disguise. Sandy, the hotel manager, took great care of all of us and put us up in a nearby 4-star/5-star hotel. We ended up in a business suite, and Jimmy the other hotel manager was extremely hospitable. They have a sedan to chauffeur us between the fair, the hotel AND the airport. In our humble opinion, they went above-and-beyond the call of duty. In all honesty, they didn't have to provide transportation to us, but they did!! To top it off, they gave us each a parting gift!! Perhaps this is more of a review on customer care, not the hotel room itself. To me, service can sometimes be more important than the product itself, especially in our case. Jimmy and Sandy deserve a big pat on the back for their extraordinary service and kindness. They get a WHOPPING 5 BRIGHT STARS from me!!

We stayed for 3 nights and booked for 2 rooms, we went in early for check-in. The staff were very friendly. They upgraded the room for us and let us check-in early. Room was spacious and clean. Although, there were some smell of tobacco even though it is a smoke-free building. Breakfast wasn't the best I've seen, but it was good. Taste was great, but lack varieties. Pool was super clean. The size is acceptable for some relax swimming. It is quite deep considered it is a hotel pool, but there was a lifeguard on duty. The location is a little far from both subway station (Science Museum and Grand Theatre), but we don't really mind walking. There is a great mall nearby (City Mall).

I had made a stuff up with my last minute booking (booked 1 day ahead) but the friendly helpful staff (mainly Sharon) and Agoda, sorted it out for me. A lovely hotel, especially the new building that I stayed in. Its a pity 1 only stayed 1 night. A bit expensive compared to what I usually pay, for cheaper hotels, but it was worth it. Possibly the best breakfast selection I have had in almost 2 years in China - many western dishes. Very handy to OTC metro station, and attractions like Windows of the world and Overseas China Town.

I have stayed at the Guangdong Victory Hotel before, but this was my first time staying in the West Building on 4th Street. I now much prefer it to the East Building on 2nd Street. I find it quieter, and the rooms with the balconies overlooking 4th Street are fantastic. I've read other reviews that mentioned problems with mosquitoes and poor wifi. I had none of those problems and found mosquito repellent devices in the rooms and hallways, and the wifi signal must have been improved because connection to the internet was strong and fast. My 4th floor balcony room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The king bed was on the soft side, and I usually prefer a harder mattress, but I found it surprisingly comfortable and had no problem sleeping. This hotel and my room are the equivalent of any 5 star hotel I have stayed at in Guangzhou. Room service is available 24 hours a day. I had a problem with the TV one night around midnight and I called the front desk for assistance and 1/2 expected to be told they would address the problem in the morning. Instead, they had a person there in 10 minutes to fix the problem...and this at midnight. Check-in and check-out was fast, efficient, accurate and friendly. I got exactly the room I had asked for and had reconfirmed the previous day. The breakfast buffet included with my room price was plentiful, lots of variety and catered to Chinese, American, and European preferences for breakfast. The location is on Shamian Island, which is beautiful. There was not a single negative experience during my stay at the West Building of the Guangdong Victory Hotel and I highly recommend it. Great, great hotel!!

I have now stayed in this hotel many times in the last three years and always find it a satisfying experience. Front desk always has at least one English speaker. My Agoda bookings are always found and honoured without trying added extras. Wifi in my room without cost,quiet location and atmosphere, the wharf around the corner has food and drink into early morning.Taxis know the address without having to look it up. My last stay I even received a room upgrade which was a nice feeling although I didnt need the extra room and TV, desk,lounge mini bar etc as I come for work not play and the bedroom was big enough with desk, internet and wifi for me to work and be able to open my three large bags without having to put them on the bed or walk over them on the floor. The bed is big and comfortable, linen and towels clean and in good condition, bathroom great with quick hot water with toiletries provided. So long as the tarrif remains the same I will book myself and my staff there again. The staff are helpful when asked for something and always have a smile and greeting in passing.

liked it so much I stayed there again. newly renovated and very tastefully decorated all the way through-wide hallways, rooms,bathrooms, reception. The business office, esp Annie( she is efficient!!) was exceptionally helpful, spoke english. The whole hotel did not act cutthroat like in trying to sell you trips at outrageous prices. They go out of their way to make things pleasant without you even asking. They serve free tea without you even asking while you are sitting in the reception area. They let us use the computer. Someone from the business office came out to assist wit our luggage. I like the big rainfall showerhead and huge shower, beautiful modern appliances in bathroom, 5 star towels, glass elevator on the outside. Beautiful artistic decor, welcoming fruit tray and tea tray. Everything was like a 4star plus hotel should be like. The hotel staff is so nice! The business office is so accomodating. I definitely would stay there again anytime!! And great location too!!! Great value for money. Everthing classy!!

Took metro line 11, changed to line 3 at Futian to arrive at Laojie station. Exit C will bring you to the DDM mall with many shops and really nice comrades who are quite a pleasant lot (no hard selling and no attempts to fleece you). Guests should walk to the other end of the mall, exit out and the hotel is in the next building - the one with the plastic surgery hospital and simson signage brightly lighted up. Room was comfortable, good size, smoke free, with comfy bed and pillows, a desk and sofa. Aircond nice and cold. TV channels are in Chinese except for one in Eng (the CGTN). The impression we have is that all the staff here (from front desk, security, housekeeping, etc.) are all very pleasant. In particular, staff during breakfast were really nice and cheerful – especially the hardworking guy in white long sleeve shirt who never fail to greet guests warmly. Breakfast, I am sorry to say, is likely to be inadequate for carnivores but otherwise quite fine for fellow comrades. Gd!

I was looking for a hotel in china that was the closest to five stars I could find. I really dread china hotels bc they usually are really dirty and don't have hot water, etc. The Wyndham is definitely good enough to hit all the points I needed. I picked a hotel a little further from the South Rail (it's about 20-25 mins by taxi) but it was well worth it since this place is large, staff helps you with things, and the room is spacious and clean. Also there is a mall next door to eat and stuff and it made my commute very easy. I stayed here a night commuting from the rail to my next destination. Good choice.

this was easily one of the best hotels that i have stayed in. the room was great and the service in terms of cleanliness and toiletries was par excellence. the coffee shop and the eating joints on site are very good. the location is close to the subway and one can travel anywhere conveniently. next door is the best shopping area for electronics and a number of other goods. all in all, an excellent hotel that i would stay at again.
