Liaoning Province hotels & places to stay

Have tried a number of hotels in Dalian on business trips there, and found Nikko to be right up there with the others. Less expensive than Furama/Shangri-la (but in a similar location) and easier to book a room (and cheaper) than the Kempinski/Swish, I found everything to be great. Room was substantially larger and better-appointed than at the Swish, while also about 100RMB cheaper. In-room WiFi was a nice bonus, as other places I've been only have free WiFi in common areas. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, both Western and Chinese. Though location is SLIGHTLY less well-placed than Kempinski (in CBD) or Furama/Shangri-la (in high-end retail district), not by much, and is within a shorter walking distance of the main bar area (Minzhu Square) than any of the other hotels mentioned. I tend to book based on price, but as long as Nikko remains slightly cheaper than the others mentioned, I'll continue booking there.

Restaurant panorama, ok Restaurant panorama, is ok....internet wifi connection very bad.. for 5 stars expectation is high....unfortunately a little bit dissapointed The rest of servicies are ok....good breakfast, good restaurant, nice rooms, nice viewing, good location,swiming pool-medium one, gimnasium ok. personal very kind, servicies exccelent, under hotel is a big market, 6 floors

Why I choose this hotel? Afcause at first name...Also location...Also price...I have been Crown Plaza net hotels in another countries and know what to expect. But in this case my prejudice has been exceeded: superior reception, big and nice rooms, good servicing...Only one small thing-internet not for free...I do not talk about price for internet-it was not so big. I'm talking about paying service. In such types of hotels you must to get it for free.

service is impeccable! very accessible since it is centrally located. they will set up a router for you if you need wifi in room. however dinning in hotel is pricing and the restauarnts nearby is also not cheap. you'll need to walk a bit for local food with reasonable price. modern and extremely clean. just one minus - there is a huge construction site (guess it is the third building of the hotel) and there is no view at all if you are staying in the east building. west is newer. thank god they have double glassed window and i had some very good sleep!

For the price, this was really the best place I've stayed in Asia--and I've done a lot of hotels recently. I had a single suite and my friends had a two-bedroom suite. The rooms had everything that we were looking for in terms of space, and much more than we were looking for in a kitchen/living room/TV options. I've been in many hotels in China, and none offered the amount of English-speaking TV channels. I got to watch Hallmark Movies during Christmas!! It was a Christmas Miracle! The location was incredible and the staff was wonderful. My only small recommendation/complaint was that breakfast was not nearly as good after 8:30 as it was at about 7:30 AM. It appeared that many options were not available that had been available previously. Other than that, all three of us greatly enjoyed the hotel! Highly recommend!!

This 5-star hotel is a little dated but still hold its own as a five-star. Very conveniently located in the center of Shenyang. I stayed two nights on a business trip and was satisfied. All the amenities of a 5-star were there and the guests are left happy. The hotel has a German beer bar -- the Paulaner Brauhaus -- which is appropriate as this is a German-run hotel.

It is located at the heart of Shenyang with few minutes walking away from the subway. The room is absolutely clean, however, there is not sufficient lighting for a business traveler who works at night in the room. The service was awful in this hotel. There was no staff explained how we can go up to different restaurant or rooms in such complex building when check in. During my stay, I tried the chinese restaurant, heat and water facilities in the hotel. The food and service were good in the restaurant. I enjoyed the environment a lot. However, the staff at the entrance of fitness made me disappointed. I went there 30 minutes before the closing time but I felt i was not welcomed as they were rushing to close it. I needed to reconfirm the closing them and requested for usage of sauna only before they "granted" me the entrance. I was also upset by the staff who helped me checked out. Previously I have already requested a late check out at 12noon via phone and nobody reminded me to create a new key at the front desk. As a result, my room was locked when i came back hotel at 11:45am. It may be a usual practice for many hotels but I didn't expect it in a five hotel without notice. From a guest's point of view, the service next door in Shangrila is definitely better than Hyatt. Where are the touches of Hyatt?!

It is very surprise that when we were arrived the hotel, the staff tell us the hotel was full and no room available to us. They had offer another so-call 4 stars hotel near-by to us, but both the hygiene and service were not good. After nearly two hours negotiation and inquiry, they transfer us to another hotel which was requested by me. Luckily the problem was solved. The hotel representative - Maggie was nice and we are happy with the end result. I’m Agoda member since 2008 and this case is the first time I meet. Hope it is a rare case and will not happen again to all agoda member.

the ibis dalian sanba is a basic yet comfortable hotel. the rooms are a standard size with all the basic amenities but please note there is no safe in the room. there is a safe box at reception which guests can use though. the rooms have a lan connection although it was stated that wifi was available in the rooms. i stayed in a twin bed room and there was enough room for both beds. the reason for this though is that the single beds are extremely narrow. the bathroom is neat and clean and well designed. the water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. breakfast was not included when i booked the room so i paid for this separately. its a basic breakfast but it has all the basics.

This hotel is probably the least shadiest hotel nearest to the Dandong train station. The room (King Suite) they put me in was really clean and big. The gym had the basic exercise equipments. Food at the hotel restaurant was good as well (portion was huge for a small person like me). I had a little bit of trouble trying to locate the entrance but overall, good place to stay. p.s. The Chinese/North Korean restaurant opposite the hotel entrance is worth a check.

I went to Dalian to attend a scientific conference and to my great delight, the convention center was just a couple of minutes walk from this HoJo hotel, which was great! Also wonderful is the location of the Hojo near the "Ornamental Tower (Xinghai) Square, which is a primary tourist attraction. The rooms at the hotel are nice and well kept, breakfast was included in my booking (I think) and it was a wonderful treat every morning. With a nice restaurant and a night club with the property, the hotel offered all that someone with little time or is on the move can ask for, but I can also see this being a great hotel to stay even on leisure trip. I strongly recommend this hotel and I would stay there again should I return to Dalian.

I stayed for 2 days. The check-in and out was fast and fuss free. The price was excellent for a room that big and clean. While the furnishings were a little dated, the room was clean, big and comfortable. In particular, the bed was big, soft and comfortable (it looks bigger than a king size). This is a big plus for me because I really don't like the hard bed in typical Chinese hotels, which makes you feel like sleeping on a plank of wood. The location was also excellent. The hotel was situated right in the middle of Taiyuan Street, one of the two shopping belts in Shenyang. However, one bad thing was that the shops in Shenyang close real early - 2030hrs!! For business travellers like me, this was tough because by the time I finished all my official meetings and meals in Shenyang, most of the shops were already closed. But if you are travelling there for leisure, this is a good and reasonably priced hotel to stay in.

I do not know how to really rate my stay. Some of the room details were really lacking....no hot water in the shower. no air conditioning in the room (yes the days were hot days), and bath stopper could not be opened. The good-breakfast, clean rooms, good bed. When calling the staff, the mechanic on the air condtioning acted like he did not know what to do.....on the no hot water to the shower, was put in a another room, only to have bad odors from the bathroom drain, and then put into a third room which was fiine. Seems in my trip to China this year, hotel facilities are really lacking in all of the places I have stayed. Seem none of them want to maintain the facilities....

Location is very good. Walking distance to the main train station. Service staff is courteous and helpful. Walmart is within walking distance. We rolled our luggages to the bus station to take the airport shuttle bus. Its not very near but as we wanted to take our bfast at the 24 hr eatery which was midway, it was more convenient than taking a cab. Bed is comfortable. Room size is adequate. Towels quite old. Hotel agreed to keep one of our luggage in their store until we rechecked in again a few days later. A small request to leave a small envelope sized item (which was not sealed) for our mainland friend to collect while we are out was declined by the counter staff. Disappointed but everything else ok.

If you've stayed in other international hotels in this price range in Dalian, the breakfast here is really pretty underwhelming. Housekeeping ends at 6 PM and air condition during this time ain't turned on for warmer temperatures, which made it quite uncomfortable when the sun was heating up the entire room. Water pressure and kitchenette was good. With a mall connected at the 4th floor, there were plenty of food choices to choose from if you were too lazy to travel a little further. Would have appreciated if the Staff had been more proactive in communicating the progress of my late check out request.

Stayed for one night in the middle of a Shenyang winter. Usually, hotels in places where it gets very cold suffer from hot, dry air in the rooms. This hotel was remarkably comfortable. On top of that, the rooms are bigger and brighter than other Crowne Plazas I have stayed in, with very comfy beds. Decent breakfast with lots of freshly cooked food, and pleasant service. Overall, a very satisfactory stay.

The stay was extremely good. The price of the serviced apartment was unbelievably good. Size of the room, comfort, cleanliness, style it was all good. It was a place you could actually live if single. The staff had great language skills. They had a 4th floor where you can go to the gym, go swimming, playroom for kids, read books, drink any kinds of coffee (included) play pool etc. It was a very pleasant stay.

The best deal of all the hotels in Kaifaqu, Dalian, China? A great location, walking distance to Five Colour City, AnSheng Mall, Suning movie theatre, iMall, Street Food Street, Hongmei with Korean restaurants, Wanda with an IMAX theatre, and a short taxi ride to Daheishan or Big Monk Mountain. All the good hotels in Dalian are clean but Citadines was remarkably clean. Also, it has windows that open, which is exceptional.
