North-West Province hotels & places to stay

The was a beautiful place and the surrounding grounds were very nice. I'm sorry that I only stayed one night. The safari was awesome and the safari guide William was the best!!!! The staff was absolutely fantastic and the food was good. I would highly recommend a visit. My only disappointment was that we didn't have wash clothes in our lodge and we didn't get to do the whole bonfire dinner because there was a large crowd of visitors from Taiwan. However, it worked out because it was a very chilly night, so I was satisfied with being inside :-)

My husband and I loved staying here for our honeymoon. Our ranger (Ryan J) was the best and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious (they are very accommodating if you have any allergies/food aversions) and there's something for everyone. My husband was obsessed with the chocolate pudding! We also got a couples massage and it was extremely relaxing. Would definetly stay here again and recommend it for our friends.

Staff was great and welcoming. The pool is very nice, chilled and the place is peacfull. 5 km from Sun city. Best place to stay at and still can go and hang out at the sun city. We had some problems with the wifi connection and the staff helped us by providing us with a vip wifi access. The resort is 10 minutes drive from the games reserve and offers guided day trips. We spent only one night there and we did regreted fpr not staying any longer. We would definatley recommend anyone who looks for a combination of chilled atmosphere, kids & adults activities to stay there :)

Incredible stay at Kwa Maritane. In planning the trip we chose to do our safari at Pilanesberg rather than Kruger because accommodation seemed more reasonable and we were right. This lodge was absolutely amazing. We got upgraded to an executive suite, which pulled out all the stops. The food was incredible- breakfast and dinner buffets included in stay. I was expecting easy food for the buffets, but was left very impressed with how fancy both were. At dinner one night we were joined by a group of four elephants who came to the watering hole right by the restaurant. Dinner included lamb, fish, and many more options. We even got lucky that we were there on a Wednesday and could partake in the bush brai under the stars- another incredible experience. The game drives are beyond imagination- the guides are so helpful and we were able to see lions (an entire pride devouring an antelope) a family of elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, impalas, kudu, and more. Highly recommend!

The hotel is situated within the Pilansberg Game Reserve and offers quality accomodation. The location is simply superb, service is to a vey high standard with a top class restaurant and wide selection of wines. The pool area is very nice complete with a Bar which is located immediately adjacent to the pool. Personal or Organised Drives into the Reserve are available and offer guests a first hand view of the wildlife. Book here you wont be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I just spent two nights at Tambuti Lodge last week. I've been on two safaris previously in Sabi Sands, and Tambuti Lodge (though being far less expensive than Sabi Sands) exceeded every expectation of what a South African safari could be!! From the incredible service to the fabulous meals (including a private dinner beautifully served in our room) to the amazing animal sightings (hello, lions, elephants, cheetahs, brown hyenas and more!), it was just an absolutely incredible trip. Plus it was incredibly low hassle - no planes or pills needed. It's easily accessible from Johannesburg (use Rhino Shuttles for private transport if you're uncomfortable driving yourselves) and malaria-free. I'd recommend this lodge to anyone - family, business traveler, couple, solo traveler. It's truly incredible!!

We had the most amazing time at Impodimo, from the personal welcome on arrival to the fantastic private accommodation with wild animals walking outside the rear patio, to the great food and wine, with terrific staff - Impodimo is a "must do" destination. Jacques and his house staff worry over every detail, the food is excellent and the bar is full of really good wine - every guest is known by their first name and never an error occurred. Stewart, our Ranger, and Sam, our tracker, gave us the most personal, knowledgeable and exciting time on our morning and evening game drive. Never missed an opportunity to get up close and personal with all the animals. We saw all the Big 5 and many, many more - a spectacular experience. We cannot recommend Impodimo highly enough - an absolute 10 / 10!!!

Only about a 2 hour drive to a magic oasis with the most welcoming staff, amazing plated 3 course meal (they cater for vegetarians as well, if you let them know) and beautiful relaxing surroundings. The huts are great, with no noise from the neighbors, big shower and very clean. The ranger activités are alone worth the drive. We got massages at the spa, that was honestly one of the best ones yet! It is safe to say my husband and I will definitely be coming back and we have already recommended it to everyone we know :-) Thanks for a great getaway Finfoot!

We had a wonderful time with Zeide and his team at Motswiri. This is a small family ran operation. The hotel itself is nice with large rooms with good views of the Savannah - our room looked to the watering hole which meant we could see all kinds of animals from bed. The highlight though is Zeide - having been at Madikwe for 17 years or so, he knows the animals by name (no joke! he definitely knows all the lions...) and has encyclopedic knowledge of everything you see. The game rides were certainly the highlight of our vacation!

A comfortable stay. Rated 3 stars but for sure, I have stayed in way worse 3 star hotels so more like a 3 1/2. I didn't like the fact that it was a 3pm check in so it meant room wasn't ready when I arrived earlier than expected at 2:15pm. Internet isn't free so I was happy I was carrying my own 'pocket Wi-Fi'. Easy safe parking and happened to be only 800m from the business people I was visiting. My room was closest to the main road and sound proofing could be better as road noise could have been an issue for some people. Yes you do have a casino right next door BUT its not in your face so you don't feel you have to go use their facilities.

Upon arrival we received a very warm welcome she helped us settle in by showing us around even though we checked in a bit late , the room was clean, the spa massage was amazing not to mention the heated pool. The place is amazing, made our stay at hartbeespoort amazing. The only problem we had was the airconditioner it made some funny noise we ended up switching it off , it was a bit hot and we needed some cool air. Other than that the place and hospitality is amazing

Sleeping in a tent, is not my first idea of a holiday. But I can get used to this type of "glamping". When we arrived, the kind people were waiting with warm towels and relieved us from our luggage. Almost directly we were able to join a game ride followed by a delicious 3-course dinner. We saw the big 5 within a day, and the guides were keen enough to listen for al the hidden wishes of their group. And before we knew it, we saw hunting Leopards, chilling Cheeta's and even some resting African Wild Dogs. The "tents" were suited with a huge bed, and every time we came back to our tent there was a nice note, and they turned up the heat (or the airco, depends on the weather). Only downside is that because of all the delicious food, high teas and game rides, you won't find time to be bored... ;)

Positive: The staff are friendly and they get things done quickly when you ask. So in terms of assistance and friendliness, they were good. The breakfast was not too shabby as well. The area is quiet and the garden of the establishment is really nice. The rooms we got were spacious. We checked in a bit early yet they did not charge us more, nice. Not so positive: The pictures of the rooms were from when the establishment was new as when we got there. The rooms smelled stuffy/worn out. The furniture was so old and the couches were torn. The blankets did not smell nice at all. One window was not functional. The drapes weren't pleasing. The shower-heads don't disperse water evenly:( The WiFi was not available at that time and told it would take a month for it to return due to the storm that hit the area two weeks prior. Overall: It was somewhat okay for the price I got. It is about 20min drive from Sun City Resort. There aren't many eateries close by though.

The hotel was perfect. Staff was excellent and the owner, Marthie, was great to chat with and passionate about her business. Hotel is also set up for business conferences, so with the rooms in the same grounds, perfect for that business meeting. Hotel is set off the main drag away from busy and noisy traffic. Less than a five minute drive is a local retail area with bars, restaurants and shops. Security at the hotel was spot on. Cameras throughout and easy quick moving gates.

We arrived and were met by one of the staff , Patrica, who was very pleasant and showed us our room. It was beautiful and tastefully decorated but don’t look for finishing touches. The bed was very comfortable. There is no WiFi unless you are at reception. The shower caddy was rusted and our water and tea was not replaced the following day . This would not be a problem except there is a notice telling you not to drink the tap water. One curtain had come off the hooks and did not close properly. We had rose petals in our bath (so romantic) which were not removed the following morning after cleaning. The breakfasts were lovely and there is a wonderful variety of food to suit all tastes. Staff training is required to ensure that the 4 star rating is justified. There is a stunning view of the dam from the dining room.

Lovely atmosphere Welcoming staff Very humble and friendly waitress who served us Friday night. Stir fry was good, but my beef burger with cheese was even better, salmon salad with capers was the best Beds great, had to request a fridge this should've been asked to us on arrival as we travelled with food from Jhb Otherwise, safe, peaceful & tranquil, I will definitely book this Hotel again, loved my stay there. Travelled with my husband for business for work

I decided to take my wife for a weekend away for our anniversary. And boy were we in for a treat, as we both creative people, when arriving at The Art Guesthouse , we found a beautiful and amazing home home decorated with exquisite art pieces. I think My wife spent a grand majority of the time admiring the art rather then spending time with me. The rooms were very clean and the emenites were as described and more than sufficient for both of us. Staff were very friendly and accommodating , they showed us around the property showcasing lovely artworks everywhere. Definitely a must and have already recommended to our friends and family .
