This hotel is by far one of the very best 5 star hotel I have ever stayed. It suprassesd all my previous experiences in other 5 star hotels I have visited around the world. Great English speaking staff even the local staff. Great team work among the staff in knowing the guest and servicing the guest even between shifts. Great customer handling. They completely surprised my wife with a complimentary birthday cake as it was my wife's birthday during our stay. Their chinese restaurant was excellent. The breakfast buffet was a real treat as well. The hotel is located at a great area and convenient area for food and shopping. The hotel is really grand in all ways. The room is huge and their facilities are great. Definitely looking forward to visit the hotel again. Congratulations to the whole team for their excellent service delivered.

I had a two week trip to China. I stayed at the Beijing Prime (4-5 star)then this hotel(4 star) then Chengdu Prolit Lanke(3 star) hotel and finally the Days Inn Beijing(4 star) I had the economy room with no window.So i'm guessing the rooms only get better. My room was on the 16th floor and it was lovely. Modern, clean and spacious. I would rather have had this room then the room i had at the Prime hotel which was nearly 3 times the cost per night. Perfect location for visiting the Xian attraction and when i visited the Terracotta warriors i caught a bus (2 yuan) to the station.Duty manageress was helpful.They let me check out late and then let me stay in their hotel until 6pm and then called me a taxi. No extra charge. I had a lovely experience and the price per night made this hotel exceptional value. I would certainly stay there again.

The facilities at Hilton Xi'an is as good as any 5 star hotel. It is comfortable, clean and has great food. The location was convenient, close to the metro and walking distance from several popular tourist sites. The best feature of the hotel is the staff - the reception desk staff, the concierge, the staff at Cafe Xi'an where we had our breakfast, the staff of the executive lounge, the people who staff "magic" (the number you call when you need any kind of help - were all superb. Everyone was not only friendly and completely courteous, they were genuinely friendly and went out of the way to provide service that is exceptional. I had a 13month old with me and the staff at Cafe Xi'an would do everything to be helpful - get me my food and any thing I needed including being genuinely friendly to me and my daughter. When she caught a cold, a staff at the executive lounge made us special pear tea for her cough and served me and my friend as well. When my daughter did not get better and I decided to take her to the hospital the staff at Magic and reception gave me all the information i needed on how to get to the hospital, arranged a cap and a hotel staff to accompany me. I would have been totally lost in the hospital even though I spoke some mandarin. At the end of the trip, when we returned, several staff came up to us to inquire if my daughter was all right and offered to send up a bowl of oatmeal and the staff who accompanied us for several hours refused the tip I offered. By the end of our week stay, we felt like we were leaving a family of friends behind who knew us and cared about us. It is the exceptional staff and service that makes this hotel stand out beyond any other 5 star hotels we have stayed in. We went on to Guangzhou to a bigger more posh hotel with lots of staff, but the quality of service was just not the same.

Stayed two nights in a Deluxe Suite at Grand Soluxe International Hotel in Xi’an and that was a great decision. We arrive at the Xi’an Railway station from Shanghai and the hotel was only a block away. As you depart the station and pass the city wall the hotel is at 11:00. The second reason to stay at the hotel is Tourist Bus #5 (route 306) leaves from the east side of the Xi’an Railway Station. This bus take you directly to the Terracotta Army Warriors in one hour for less than one USD. Be sure to stay on the bus to the last or 12th stop. If you are arriving by train and visiting the Warriors the location of this hotel is PERFECT. We stayed in suite 1215 on the 12th floor. The room was oversized, had great WiFi that allowed Gmail to work, had a bathtub and shower, flat screen TV, and an office area. I read the TA reviews and an Deluxe Room had good reviews at 1/3 the cost of the suite, We choose the suite because it was reasonable priced and we were allowed to be checked in at 10:00 after an overnight train trip on the train from Shanghai to Xi’an. The staff was friendly and had adequate English language skills. Even though there are newer hotels in Xi’an the combination of the location to the Railway Station and Bus to the Terracotta Warriors made the Grand Soluxe International Hotel in Xi’an a five star property.

We had a very pleasant stay at The Sofitel Hotel. The hotel is well located within walking distance to some of Xi'An's main sites and is modern and attractive .The best part of our stay was the outstanding service provided by Mark and James at the concierge desk. When we discovered that our next morning's flight to Chengdu had been cancelled, they immediately gave this problem their full attention. They were able to book us on a flight which saved our vacation from ruin. In a country where few hotel employees speak English, these two were an exception. Not only were they able to book the flight, they also arranged for us to receive a boxed lunch to take with us since we would be catching a very early flight. These two employees were remarkable and we are so glad that we could rely on their services.

Back packer combined with low budge hotel. Newly renovated with simple furniture, if you are looking for a cheap and clean place to stay in a good location this is a perfect choice. Rooms close to public toilet and shower could be noise which is the one we have got but no room is available to change at the time, remember to mentioned this to when booking. Rood top bar was great! Downside was bathroom sewer smells bad.

One thing which strikes us most during this stay in Novotel Xinqiao was the exceptional service from the staff at the concierge desk. Two male staff, particularly Lee, helped us a great lot in booking a tour in China. When we approached them, they even went to the extend of using their own phones and accounts to help us, ensuring we are able to book the tour as we did not have a local number. The tour was in Xian, although we were in Beijing at that time, he didn't mind helping us. We eventually manage to and we are very thankful, because Lee left his contact number despite the hassle and trouble, and he trusted us. He even ask us after we left the hotel in Beijing if everything went well, and even helped us contact the tour agency just to ensure everything went well. Thank you, Lee. We appreciate the warmth and help you've given us. Please commend and reward this staff!!!! Thank u so so so so much! :)))

Gran Melia is a truly 5 star and most wonderful place to stay in Xi’an. A hotel I will not missed when I visit Xi’an again and will surely recommend to my friends and family. It is located at a high end prime area of Xi’an. The hotel is big and quiet with many restaurants and dinning options nearby within 5-10 mins walking distance. It is a 15 min taxi ride to major shopping centres near attractions like Bell Tower, Drum Tower and Muslim food market. Taxi fare is not expensive in Xi’an. Breakfast buffet offers a good spread of delicious international food. We were not used to Xi’an local food and chose to dine at the hotel’s chinese restaurant. The dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. We had dinner there for 2 nights. Hotel room is first class, spacious, clean and king size bed very comfortable. Hotel lobby staff are always polite and sensitive to our needs. They extended both of our rooms till 5 pm without extra charges to accomodate our late checkout for night flight home.

Got to Xian for a day trip just to see the fabled Terracotta Warriors. Tour guide picked us up from hotel and afterwards dropped us off at the hotel. Xian was different from the other provinces i had visited.Compared to beijing and shenzhen, Xian actually felt more like china (if that makes sense)it had an old world china feel to it. Chinese architecture was visible from most of the buildings and the Bell Tower hotel was no exception. Come out the entrance of the hotel and you are greeted by the bell tower which is right across the street in front of you. Turn left and you could the see new malls but keep walking until you get to an intersection to your left should be an old spire and a quiet rustic artists market. The Goods are relatively cheap that i didnt bother hangling much. there you can get hand crafterd pots/vases, look around tho some stalls have better workmanship. They dont ask for much which was nice (knowing they werent out to rip you off and since it was so cheap i bought a few of the better stuff without hanggling to show my appreciation for their workmaships)

The hotel is not located along the main road, so will require guests to walk down the smaller road to access it. Overall, we are very satisfied with the hotel because of the exceptional service rendered here. Hotel staff are very courteous and prompt in providing assistance and follow-ups. Users of computers with heavy security features (e.g. company laptops) may have difficulties accessing the free Internet connection at this hotel. I was able to surf for 15 minutes before the system logged me out. When an IT technician was sent to my room, I was told that the connection would work if I disabled all the security features on my PC (e.g. Nortan Anti-Virus, etc), which I was not able to do so on a company laptop. Nonetheless, kudos to the hotel for offering to provide me with free internet access in their Business Centre. It was a very nice gesture. The IT staff was also very friendly - offering advise on places to visit, what to do/eat, and how best to bargain when making purchases in Xi'An. There may be a no tipping policy here as he apologetically declined to accept a tip when he left.

This hotel is centrally located in a former government building built with Soviet assistance in 1953. It is flanked by a 'regular' Sofitel on each side and a Mercure and Grand Mercure behind. It was amazing to find architecture like that in Xian, and it was refurbished beautifully. A really exceptional facility. It was opened in Sept. 2014, so was still very new at the time I stayed there. The key staff were impeccably well trained. The 'butler' service is amazingly good. They handle everything. Computer wouldn't connect...no problem. The Italian dining was excellent, even for Shanghai, never mind a 2nd tier city like Xian. The rooms are well appointed, not small but not huge either (luxury king room). My only disappointment was the breakfast. The buffet was something I'd expect from a 3-star hotel. The selection was a bit meager, fruits only local and of average quality. The congee was luke-warm, wontons over cooked, other Chinese items were made outside and warmed up in back (and tasted like it). I could not get a proper omelette (everything on the side?), the Eggs Benedict was over cooked and improperly made. The coffee, bread, and pastries were all first rate. Everything else points to them working out the kinks. My overall impression was of a unique and delightful experience.

My wife and I had travelled to Xi'an in early May for an extended stay of 8 nights in order to visit the sights in and around this great city, and we considered ourselves very lucky to have chosen this hotel. We found the room to be very cosy and pleasant. It was well equipped with everything that you'd expect of a hotel of this standard, although the Wi-Fi was not that quick but it did prove reliable. My only concern was the bathroom where fittings were loose, and was in need of a general refurbishment, but saying that my wife pronounced the shower as the best that she'd ever had in a hotel anywhere, which means that it was hot & powerful! Breakfast was amazing with a truly huge array of food that was of excellent quality. I found the hotel staff really to be very efficient, amiable and helpful no matter to which department they were attached. Our room was cleaned to perfection each day, the waiting staff in the restaurant gave great service, the Bell Boys at the front door were always ready with a smile and helpful suggestions, and the Receptionists were super efficient in dealing with our requests; our request for a late check-out was deftly handled by the charming Ms. Serena Yang. The hotel is located within the walls of the ancient city and many sights that are worth visiting are within 20 to 25 minutes easy walk. We would definitely stay there again, and I would recommend without hesitation.

Although location might not be the best but the hotel staff service was excellent ! Very helpful in trying to help us resolve matters with the local cab company when my sister left her phone in the cab. Did not expect to be able to retrieve the same but attitude of the hotel staff made the incident much bearable. There was a game room with Daytona, basketball, snooker which were a pleasant surprise and helped us while our time since it was raining 3 days out of 5 days we were in Xi An. Great job to the hotel management.

The location and cleanliness were great. The beds were on the small side--usually Chinese double rooms have two Chinese twin beds, which are about 42" wide, halfway between an American twin and an American double. This hotel had on Chinese twin and one American twin. It was clean and the AC worked well though and the location was perfect. NO ENGLISH IS SPOKEN by the staff. Expect to make a deposit. Breakfast isn't great and is a little pricey (20 kuai) and there are no laundry services or even a nearby laundry that isn't crazy priced. The hotel itself though is cheap and steps away from the drum tower and all the nearby attractions including Muslim Food Street. It's also very clean (to Western standards) and recently renovated.

Stayed here for one saturday night on a weekend break in Xi'an. The staff were really helpful and attentive. We had a Club Room so you expect a little luxury and i wasn't dissapointed, the room was massive and immaculate. The buffet breakfast was wonderful, this is not the hotel to choose if you are on a diet. The only downer is the location. Tt's too far to walk from the city centre, especially when it's 40 degrees, which means you are forced to walk to the Metro (10 minutes away) and at night you have to use taxis, and taxi drivers in Xi'an are the most obnoxious people i have met in China.

I had absolutely the best experience at this hotel. Couldn’t fault it. After getting off a long 13 hour train ride I was ready for a nice room and it didn’t disappoint. Great large comfortable room with big open bathroom. The service was also outstanding. The girls behind the desk were more than helpful. All of them. Also hotel is situated in a great part of town near the walls. 10/10

It made us feel at home immediately when we arrived in this authentic American hotel, especially after our night train ride to the dusty ancient city in China. The room has good size, well appointed with new furniture. The bed is heavenly soft. We stayed in Chinese 5-star hotels in other cities and found their beds too hard. The bathroom is clean and spacious. Towels are soft and absorbent. The hotel is up to Sheraton standard. It is the details that made us feel at home, which we appreciate even more while traveling in China.

I live right outside of Xi'an for work and come into the city every weekend. I've tried a few other hostels but I find myself coming back to Seetang time and time again. It's by far one of the best hostels in Xi'an. It costs a little more than others in the area, but it is worth it. The staff are extremely friendly, the rooms and facilities are clean, and it is in a great location (near two metro stops, popular bus lines, the city wall, and on a quiet, historical side street). If you have any questions or need any assistance, you can ask right downstairs. If staying in the dorms, I would recommend the six-bed over the four-bed, as they have more space to move around. They have lockers in all the rooms for some of your things. The upstairs terrace and cafe area is very comfortable, with inside and outside seating. They have events on holidays and weekly events like English Corner on Fridays, as well as Hot Pot dinners on Saturdays (I think). Definitely recommend.
