Where to stay in Sichuan Province
Sichuan Province hotels & accommodations

As someone who has stayed in a lot of hotels in China, this is easily one of the best. The service staff is friendly and attentive, especially Steven Liu. Communicating with them in English was easy and convenient. Upon arrival to the property Steven helped us check in without any issues. The location could not be better, walking distance to the Sichuan Museum, Tianfu...

We have become perennial guests at Niccolo Chengdu. During our annual visits to see family, it is like our home away from home, as it has all the luxuries of home and then some. We are travelers that demand high quality and service wherever we go, and Niccolo Chengdu has often met and exceed our expectations. The rooms are well-appointed, clean, spacious and have a ...

This luxury resort provides good amenity and make guest feel calm. It is located near Qing Cheng Mt. There are wonderful alternatives ;brand new panda valley, Dujiangyan and Jiezi old town. It takes 15~20 mins by taxi. Also you can enjoy yourself in the resort by walking through with fresh air and amenity. Swimming pool is spacious. You can enjoy Chinese Sichuan food i...

The G60 Deluxe Suite that I checked into is spacious and well equipped with modern furniture. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to high end shopping district (太古里). Check in at the reception is fast and the staffs are friendly and knowledgable. Will definitely stay in this hotel again if I am visiting Sichuan.

Kempinski has long been one of the best hotels in Chengdu for its convenient location - 20-minute drive from the airport and a subway station just 200m away. Room size and property maintenance is good but: (1) there is a car-park gate in front of the hotel entrance so taxi drivers are reluctant to drive in and tend to drop you off outside the main road. Though 50m away...

Breakfast spread is really good-many local Sichuan dishes, salad, fruits, dim sum, pastry, yogurt, etc. Special thanks to the very friendly hotel staff Vivi who proactively offered help when I faced issue buying ticket online. She is also very helpful in many other ways. Thank you very much, Vivi. Other staff I met at both restaurant and hotel are all very helpful ...

Great location to attend trade shows at the convention center and about 20 minutes to the airport and city center. Chengdu isn't a very big city and traffic is reasonable, so you can get anywhere fairly quickly. The rooms are clean and spectacular with amazing 5 star hotel finishes. Lots of food options in the mall next door.

I was at The Temple House for 2 nights for a business trip. Being a relatively new hotel, the taxi driver couldn't pin point it's location and made a call to the front desk. Upon arrival, it was assuring to see a couple of staff from the hotel rushing out to greet us in the late night offering their assistance. The hotel has a great oriental modern design vibe. There a...

staying in a small more relaxed hotel that was not a tower block and oozed charm added a more authentic aspect to our stay in chengdu. set back from the street and built in the local architectural style with the rooms around a courtyard enclosing a four headed buddha and a water feature it was peaceful after the noise and traffic of the city. the surrounding but q...

Owing to my daughter wanting to spend time at the Paradise water park, we booked the intercontinental for one night. Had chosen a panoramic view room so she could enjoy the view. On checkin, since the room was not available, we got a free upgrade. Service and staff were exemplary and unlike most other hotels in the city we have been at, they spoke enough English for u...

It was a wonderful experience staying at the Haiyatt Garden. The room was clean and has a lovely smell of freshness whenever I come back from a day's outing. I was there everyday for a good foot massage. The therapist are skillful. Great value for money. It was beyond my expectations. The breakfast spread was superb. The Concierge was helpful in making tour arra...

Excellent hotel - spacious room, nice design. I must commend the level of staff attentiveness - from the driver who picked me up at the airport and drove me to the panda place; and to the excellent concierge who accompanied me to the Sichuan opera by foot. And the wonderful spa! Tips. There is also a nice vegetarian restaurant near the hotel; and a local cinema.

It is not easy to find a western-style breakfast on the mainland. In Chengdu, fortunately, the breakfast at the Sofitel Hotel is really impossible to challenge. A cup of ground coffee, delicious yoghurt, authentic French bread, bread pudding and French Bonne Maman jam are all wonderful. Of course, the hotel staff are well trained in service and are also important facto...

The staff were extremely helpful - organizing trips to the see the pandas as well as helping us navigate around the city. We do not speak Chinese so while it was tricky at times, they were very happy to help us with taxis and even finding appropriate dining venues (we also do not eat spicey food so this was a bit tough considering every restaurant was all about Sichuan...

My memories of the Holiday Inn are shaped by a stay in 1998 in Guangzhou - which was a terrible hotel. This time I booked the Holiday Inn more because it was located in the city centre than anything else, and went in expecting a 3 star, at best. It was a big surprise to find a really nice looking hotel, good lobby, nice rooms, good fittings and a pretty decent gym a...

Right at city centre and surrounded by many malls and restaurants. Very new and clean. Services from all front line staffs are very courteous and good. Starbucks just next door. Food from Man HO restaurant is delicious. Ambience of room is modern and serene. Price of room till food are reasonable. Highly recommended

Classic, long lasting for decades as THE place to stay in central Chengdu. Having toured this property 3 yrs prior, and noted the elegant, unique dining room, when a "special" for room w/buffet breakfast, at 1/4 the "normal" price, was offered, I immediately booked two "special treat" nights. Chengdu's Jinjiang Hotel is the equal to, in some cases, exceeds NYC Plaza H...

We have stayed at least 3 times in the last month and found the hotel consistently perfect. Beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are well appointed and housekeeping is flawless. Staff is genuinely helpful, they helped us change our dates without any hassle when we had issues with our flights and helped us book train tickets as we had difficulties with the Chinese s...

The hotel is within walking distance to the metro station. Line 2 and 3 are very convenient to reach most of the sightseeing spots. The hotel itself is located above a shopping center and is surrounded by many other shops, shopping centers and eateries. The staffs are professional and very helpful. The room is clean. The only thing is the room is a bit dated even thoug...

This is going to be a slightly long review as I will cover a few aspects. LOCATION - Very near to WenShuYuan MRT exit H. When you exit from Exit H, cross the road (at your exit there is a traffic light) and walk left. There is a stall which sells fruit at the last of your lane and turn right in and there is your hotel. Staff (I think is the manager is very rude. She...

Is the best hotel I stay in Chengdu, the room is clean, the location is good(5min walks to nearest subway), the hotel’s food is nice, the staffs also very friendly and helpful (especially Xiao min and Micheal) who will help us to solve the problem and arrange our schedule. Thanks a lot and let us have a nice and conformtable journey in Chengdu and Sichuan! Definetely w...

best place to stay in chengdu! so near to the metro (which was in a mall, silver), and so near to the shopping district. the staff spoke great english and were very friendly and attentive. they have an outdoor lounge area upstairs which was really nice... if the chengdu weather was not hazy and the nights dark. also, they have organised tours within the hostel, so i...

This apartment was a great find at a great price. The location was fabulous, close to a metro station and with a great upscale mall close by. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment itself was very nice, on the 37th floor with good internet, and the owner was very responsive when we had a special request. One small constructive...

My girlfriend and I stayed here while visiting Chengdu for a friend’s wedding. We were impressed the minute we walked in; the lobby was beautiful and smelled amazing. I wish I knew how they made it smell so good… The staff was super friendly and upgraded our room since there was vacancy in a nicer suite. They met our every need in a hurry, sending up a power adapter fo...

We had a really great stay at this hotel! It was well kept and very clean and tidy. The staff were incredible! The couple (?) who manage it speak very good English and are exceptionally helpful, they provided us with tips for the area and recommendations! Facilities are a 4 star because there is no fridge in the room, other than that, we could not fault the room! 5 sta...
Cheap places to stay in Sichuan Province

Convenient, clean and very helpful front staff. June always has the best smile and is so helpful. The rooms are clean. There are hot showers. Water hot and cold is refillable which is great because you can use your own bottle. Beds are comfortable. Location is closer to wenshu monastery which means that you need to either walk or take a short bus or train to the other ...

I stayed at Chengdu Lazy Inn's standard twin room (with ensuite bathroom) for total of 5 nights, initially with a friend and then by myself. The room was comfortable and clean, and the courtyard (with tea shop and flower shop) was pretty and quiet. We found it easy to get around, as the hostel was 5 mins walk from Bai Guo Lin (白果林)subway station (Line 2). Nice neighbou...

The humble hotel building has very nice interior and we were directly welcomed by the young staff which has got to be the best English speaking in all of Chengdu. The impression of the room was simply that it was more than what we had paid for with a big and comfortable bed, sofa, table. big bathroom, large balcony. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Booked 2 private twin rooms 2 nights. Spacious rooms air clean. Absolutely best experience for value. Facilities functional beyond expectation. Staff most courteous and helpful beyond call of duty... luggage assistance, personal company to train ticket depot, etc. First time in hostel, good memorable experience. Our gratitude to all the staff there, great job well done...

The location is close to metro station and good restaurants. Unlikely many hostels in China, It’s easy to spot this hostel from the street. There is a beautiful garden outside. The rooms are big and have enough space for 8 people and the rooms are clean. The shower is very good and hot. But the best of this hostel is the staff. The girls are sweetest ever. They all spe...

oh my god, i would say that this is the best hotel i went ever. not really considered luxurious five star hotel . but, it gives you the feel of homed. nicely decorated wooden room, having two wooden chairs just right close to the window. i wish that i could spend few weeks here. enjoy my lazy afternoon by having a cup of tea sitting by the coffee table just right to th...

I had lower expectation of the room condition for the price I paid. I booked a standard double room but they upgraded me free-of-charge to a triple room (with 1 queen-size bed and 1 single bed) upon check-in. I was surprised by the comfortable condition of the room/bathroom. The room is very clean and aircon was in good working order. The hot shower was adequate f...

-no breakfast included, but Agoda booking said yes -location quite difficult to find, must go in via a path, which you can't see from the main street -no elevator, room start with first floor, so at least need to walk 1 level -room condition is good, just not enough lights, feel too dark -got laundry area, pay rmb10 to use the washing machine -near JinLi shopping stree...

yvonne was very helpful with tour bookings. this is not a 3-star hotel. the room was awful. i had a private room with heavy mildew in the bathroom. i poured shampoo on this to tolerate the odor for the four or five days there. a shelf had broken from the wall and metal strips stuck out from the wall. dangerous. paper thin walls with lots of nocturnal activity. location...

Mr. Panda was a very nice stop in our backpacking trip in China. We got a double room for 2 nights at a very affordable price, and we had everything we needed. Clean room, comfy bed, our own bathroom, kettle, hygienic stuff, and even drinking water in the lobby (not every hostel in China gives you this). The staff were kind (they do not speak english) gave us a map and...

The room was nice, it's large and has two large bed. If you are traveling with lots of people, I would recommend you this inn. The boss is a very nice man. The location is great too, the bus station is in front of the inn, you can also find lots of local restaurant nearby with cheap price, and there is also a mini-mart that open 24 hours with cheap price.

The downtown walking streets, the riverside bar street and Jinli tourist street -- each a twenty minute walk away. A couple of the desk workers speak good English -- and the staff at the Panda hostel speak English and are very knowledgeable about setting up tours and making travel arrangements. The neighborhood south of the hotel -- has several grocery stores, many r...

The boss forget my booking and as a result I was given a sub-standard room just next building. The room carpet was so dirty and the toilet stinks!!!!The TV reception was so poor!!! Even in peak season, there are adequate hotels in JiuZhaiGou. Therefore it is not necessary to book in advance except Labour day and National day.

It was a very good place to stay in Chengdu. I got here by taxi which cost around RMB 70. The room was spacious and clean. Above all, a helpful English speaking staff, her name is Sunny, gave us a lot of help when we had to book a taxi. Chengdu is not a big city so getting around by taxi is convenient. I also could find halal food around the hotel so it was great.

This is a special little hotel. Not just for the location (walking distance to bus station and attractions) and the clean, comfortable rooms - but mostly for the amazing service and hospitality we received from the owner/manager (?), Carrie. From the moment we walked in, she welcomed us like old friends, giving us her own "guided tour" of the region (by showing us the...

Staff showing much dedicate and helpful during arrival at mid-night time. I just needed somewhere to stay on a long layover in Chengdu and this place was perfect. It is very close to the airport and is right in the town so is also suitable for e...

The staff of this hotel is the best and most helpful I've ever met! They don't speak much English, but they use a translation app to comunicate smoothly. The girl in the reception desk showed us the best and cheapest way to tour the Great Buddha with a cute embroided map they made for this purpose! Apart from that, they showed us were to eat, where to go for views of t...

Everything was great, I really enjoyed the stay there, especially the staff are so friendly and helpful... the service was thoughtful and considerate. However two things I'm not quite satisfiled: 1. On arrival we had a very slow check in and a miss understanding of our booking of a baby cot and another bed for our children. They eventually upgraded us to a 1 bedroom room which was ideal for our little family. Don't bother booking a studio room if you have more than one child staying with you. Belle (from customer services) was very helpful during our stay with boo...

we made a booking for the business king bed room but it was overbooked on the day we checked in. in the end we managed to get a free upgrade to the suite. we love it the moment we stepped into the room. it is a neat and nicely furnished room (comes with the bedroom, study area, tea area and even a dinning room) and there wifi is even available. just stepped out ...

Nearby - 华新街, 指挥街, 春西路, 天府广场, 文书院 must go. Go to 指挥街 experience the 芙蓉国粹川剧秀。Best, must watch. Go to 华新街 try out the local Sichuan dishes at this "龙爪手" restaurant. Go to 2nd floor ask for package meal, serve with lots of local dishes in small serving. Pricing is pretty cheap and you can try alots of local dishes at a go. I didn't enjoy my stay at this hotel. The wi-fi had very poor connectivity and speed. It was very difficult to do any work on my laptop. Also, the location is very remote. To buy water from a convenience store entailed a 1.8km walk from the hotel all the way to the main road where ...

Staff do not speak English, so if you can't speak mandarin you will struggle. Rooms are clean and spacious. Easy access to the metro. Plenty of shops and restaurants around. About 20...

i was looking for a cheap hotel near the technology zone (tianfu software park). this hotel has decent rooms, good restaurant, and good location as needed. however only a few members of staff can speak english (although there was always someone available), it has no gym, and room service menu is pretty limited. on the plus side, internet is free and reasonably fast, an...

I extended a business trip to Chengdu to spend a weekend in the capital of Sichuan. I couldn't have chosen a better place than the Ascott. Wow...what a well kept secret! Top notch, one of the best hotels I have stayed in China over the past 15 years, and I have stayed at many top of the line 5 star hotels. This hotel is not close to any metro station, although it offers shuttle service to Chendu Zoo Metro Station. I was visiting my grandparents who live at Sichuan University. I was raised in the US and prefer a western style of living (food and gym facilities/pool). Hotel delivered on all of the above and i even had the gym mostly to myself. With that said, the in room wifi connection could have been a little bit better. I'd be happy to recommend friends and family.

It's excellence choice for business travel if you dont mind the locality is 7 min drive distance to downtown. The hotel facility is fully equiped, very good environment & atmosphere. Perfect for honeymoon stay. I stay this hotel for 3 days and return to stay for another 4 days. I strongly recommend this superb 6 star hotel.

Had a 3d2n staycation in the hotel. We reserved a business room and they gave us a free upgrade during check-in. The carpeted room was not very big, but just enough for two person to move around comfortably. However,...

We picked the Ritz-Carlton for our stay in Chengdu as it has a reputation for impeccable quality and we were not disappointed! Great hotel, bigest bathroom we had during our China trip. If youre brave we went to a local restaraunt to try Sichuan Hot Pot, recomended by concierge, just opp hotel. Hotel aranged a cab for us to visit the panda breeding centre & we also got a local bus to Les...

The hotel just changed ownership (Dec. 18, 2016) and is working out the kinks. For example, they say they have 5 restaurants but they only have 2. Chinese restaurant smelled like smoke even though it is non smoking. The rooms...

Dinner in 33 floor, staff there all are very nice! They will try their best to assist you which makes me feel very comfortable! But reception staff is very cold, no smile at all! I booked here twice for friend but same situation, no smile , cold as winter!

Essential Travel Tips for Your Sichuan Adventure
Traveling to Sichuan can be an exciting adventure, but a few essential tips can help ensure a smooth experience. First, familiarize yourself with local customs and cultural etiquette. Respecting local traditions is crucial, especially in more rural areas. For instance, it’s customary to greet locals with a friendly smile and a nod. When dining, be mindful of chopstick etiquette, such as not sticking them upright in rice, as this resembles a funeral ritual.
Another important tip is to learn a few basic phrases in Mandarin, as it can enhance your interactions with locals. Simple greetings and expressions of gratitude can go a long way in establishing rapport. While many people in larger cities like Chengdu speak English, having some Mandarin phrases in your pocket can be helpful in smaller towns and rural areas.
Pack appropriately for your trip, considering the varied climates and activities you may engage in. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring Sichuan's natural attractions and historical sites. If you plan on hiking, don’t forget to bring layers, as temperatures can fluctuate throughout the day. Additionally, packing a portable charger for your devices will ensure you capture all the stunning moments of your journey.
