“what a view from room 211!”
Had a great stay for five days. Room 211 has fantastic views on both sides – out to the sea and out across the harbour. The room was quite large for Hong Kong standards. The room was clean and tidy – like at home – maybe not for neat freaks but perfectly fine for the rest of us. The location is quite central with easy walking to Jordan, and TST Metro stations in under 10 minutes. There seems to be a lot of talk about being on a hill but seriously, the road outside the hotel is flat and it’s only about 25 minutes of steps down to Kimberley Road where everything is easily accessible. If you’re coming from the airport, take the airport express train to Jordan, MTR station and walk the 10 minutes…. unless you’ve got heaps of bags and then just get a taxi from Jordan. It’s relatively flat and I have attached photos: find your way to Austin Street and then Pine Hill Street, or alternatively take Hillwood Road to the end and you will see a gold, tiled wall with Grand Kitchen on it. Turn right into the alley with about a dozen steps, up the steps and step through an iron gate that is actually public property, and head left past the Restaurant. Follow the wave of pebbles design in the cement past the back of the Crabtastic Restaurant. keep going – it looks like a dead end but you can actually turn a sharp right and step out onto observatory court in front of Bauhinia Hotel! this is the easiest route I have found.
