    “Great friendly hostel!”

It's hard to fault my time at Flaming Kiwi... The place is spotless and is constantly being cleaned, other guests are respectful of this to making sure to clean up after using the kitchens. The staff are helpful and friendly, really going out their way to help you out with suggestions and any questions. The rooms are comfy, if not a bit dated. The bed was super comfy and there were plenty of toilets with showers so you never really had to worry about that. The only thing was that the curtains on the beds don't go the full length but thats a really small issue in my option. There is plenty of places to put valuables with a locker under the bed and another smaller set in the room also. The long termers were all really friendly and chatty and made me feel like I was one of the family. It's a great bunch of people with regular visits from people who have moved out coming back to say hello. It's super close to town (less than 10 minute walk) and there's limited parking outside the hostel, but you can park across the street for free no problem. Overall this place felt very homely, friendly and I would definitely go back if I was in Queenstown again!

    “Affordable place”

Lodging in Queenstown is rather expensive and flaming kiwi is one of the more affordable places with value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. But the laundry room is awkward as it is also a bathroom and therefore someone might keep you from doing laundry. It is close to skyline and walkable distance to town. The place is cleaned well but unfortunately not all of the tenants clean the kitcheb after use.

    “Excellent”

Staff very friendly, let us drop our bags off early and leave them at check out, as we had a later flight. Room was quite small, but double bed was comfy. Lots of kitchens to use and fridges to put food in. There were 2 bathrooms on our level, one with a laundry, and more on the other levels. They were clean enough, although some mould on the shower curtain and wet floors (shower pressure was that good it just went astray), but also had a mop to help with wet floors. Was pleased to learn that this was not a party hotel - guests asked to be quiet after 10pm. However it's still a hostel/backpackers so you can still hear everything, especially the door to the common area as it had to close with force to lock.. Was affordable compared to other places in Queenstown and everyone very friendly!

    “Clean, well-maintained”

It is just a one night stay. The toilet, bathroom and kitchen are clean and tidy. No smell in the room, which is great! Just a scroll away from the town centre, away from the noise and busyness while you wanted a good recharge. :)

    “Wouldn’t stay again ”

Everything was lovely about our stay apart from the construction work that woke us up at 7:30am and didn’t stop until after midday. The private rooms are outside and bathrooms are inside so you have to walk a couple of steps through open air to the bathrooms. If you’re a budget backpacker and this is the cheapest option for a private room it might suit; if you’re slightly fancier steer away. Double check if the construction is still ongoing if like us you want to have a lie in and don’t want to be woken up by loud construction noise, in the morning.
