Ipoh is an old town with colonial era buildings still intact. Although the city now boasts of new shopping malls, travellers still roam the old section of the city taking in the Indian enclave and pre-war buildings selling mainly wholesale dried marine products.

A convenient pit stop for leisure travellers heading north towards Penang. Great local food and very beautiful limestone hills surrounding the city if one chooses to pay some attention.

Ipoh is an old tin mining town with few newly established shopping centres. There are many limestone caves for tourists to visit around Ipoh, the most notable ones are Gua Tempurung and Kek Lok Cave.
One of the must try food is the Tauge Ayam (bean sprouts). Ipoh's bean sprouts are thicker & juicier compared to those else where.
I stayed in Ipoh for 3 days, had spent 1 days in the Lost world of Tambun, kids really enjoy it. 2nd day visited a few cave including 清心岭,霹雳洞,极乐洞。we stop by Tambun to buy Limau Bali, 362 烧饼。Then we went to Ipoh old town to drink their famous white coffea.
