It was a trip with Korean children aged 3 and 4. Having a child, we stayed in a family room which was spacious and nice. It was clean and located near the market, so the location was good. The staff were all friendly. It was convenient to buy water and alcohol on the first floor. There were also restaurants for breakfast and places to buy snacks nearby, which was nice. There was also a playground nearby, so the child used it every day. I made a reservation mistake, but I was impressed by the staff's efforts to solve it together. Hong Kong accommodations are usually small and expensive, but this place was spacious, clean, and affordable. I would like to stay here again!

The building is large, so it is easy to recognize from the outside and is quite clean for the price. ・At check-in, a $100 deposit is required, and pillowcases and room key cards are provided. ・Towels can be purchased at the reception for $10 for a set of one large and one small towel. ・The room lockers do not have keys. If a key is needed, it can be purchased at the reception for $30. ・The room has two separate areas for 【shower, toilet, and sink】. ・It is recommended to bring your own slippers for the room. ・One of the shower rooms had a product that was unclear if it was shampoo or body wash. ・There are two hair dryers in the coin laundry on the G floor (free). ・The coin laundry costs $30 for washing (30 minutes) and $30 for drying (45 minutes). Both require coins, so exchange can be done at the reception. ・It was convenient to borrow an umbrella from the reception when it rained. ・The other guests in the same room were around the same age as me, which was nice. The water area was always wet, and there were many personal items in the room, but this added to the foreign atmosphere, so it was good. The staff cleaned the room and trash cans every day, so the water area and room were always clean the next day. ・Around midnight to 1 am, everyone was sleeping, so there was no need to worry about noise and I could sleep soundly. ・At check-out, I returned the pillowcases, duvet covers, and mattress covers and received the $100 deposit back. ・It was very helpful that the reception was available 24 hours. It's only a five to ten minute walk from Sham Shui Po MTR station. The view from the window is also very good. I really like it. It has been almost 10 years since my last visit, and I am once again lodging a complaint with YHA. Despite the long time lapse, the environment remains clean and comfortable. Although it is a shared room with bunk beds, the pillows and mattresses are still of good quality, just as they were 10 years ago. If I have the opportunity to visit Hong Kong alone again, I would still choose to stay here.

Good value, clean and friendly staff”
Huge space with own spacious bathroom. Great value close to Sham Shui Po fresh produce market (same side just keep walking down), Wellcome supermarket and metro. HK in March has a very damp chill, but air con is very strong in common areas (you can turn room one off but can't open window, so you leave the door jammed open for airing). Kitchen has lots of commercial refrigeration space to store your labelled foodstuff and blank sticky labels are provided. Pots and pans are non existent, as are cooking facilities. People bring their own pots, cookers. There is a zip boil. There is a grubby toaster which nobody seems to use and 2 functioning microwaves. There is a double potted electrical gadget (you put your stuff to cook into the 2 inbuilt pots, close the hinged lid and press something) but Teflon is severely scratched if this doesn't bother you. There should be notices strongly advising guests who use the kitchen and dining area to - clean their crap as they're going along, not leave their dirt in the sinks and maybe get around to tidying up in their own sweet time like after they've eaten... Meanwhile other guests who want to use the sink food prep area are confronted by previous cooks' rubbish. The other signage Mei Ho needs to place on all dining tables in the cooking/dining area is that the tables are for dining only. Some selfish people place there study books & laptops on dining tables and proceed to other tables to dine with their friends. There are very very few dining tables and their use not for dining purpose (at meal times) needs to be addressed. Again the air con in that area is fiercely cold. Food gets cold quickly. Take a Woollen jumper and scarves for warmth. Toilet paper, coffee sachets and tea are topped up at daily room servicing. Buy your own milk at Wellcome supermarket down the road, it's cheap enough. The mattresses are HARD. it's not hyperbole when I describe it as concrete without the damp. I couldn't sleep and had to fold the duvet and extra blankets into 4s as cushioning for my back area, and even then I got severe backache. In general, aside from some grubby & inconsiderate guests and the concrete hard mattresses, Mei Ho has wonderful staff and well located.. What they lack in Tsim Sha Tsui vibes, they make up for in quiet and spaciousness. Their heritage museum is REALLY REALLY good.
